About This Brand

It’s funny how life works out sometimes. Amy’s Kitchen never set out to become one of the world’s leading purveyors of prepared frozen organic foods, but here they are. The only thing Amy’s really wanted to do was provide busy people on the go with convenient food options that were healthier than typical TV dinners, and maybe make a decent amount of money in the process. Almost 30 years and millions of dollars in sales later, it’s safe to say that Amy’s Kitchen has succeeded far beyond their wildest expectations. How Amy’s Kitchen got started Rachel and Andy Berliner are like many people, and like most people who had just returned from a long grueling day of work, cooking was the last thing on their minds. They tried pre-cooked frozen foods but found them disappointing because of their weak cardboard flavors and unhealthy amounts of sodium, sugar, and chemical additives. Rachel and Andy thought a better way needed to exist, so they made one themselves and soon Amy’s Kitchen was...

The best!

These are the best refried beans I've ever eaten. I am practically addicted to them. It's easy to add my ground flax seed to them too. Scoop up some beans and guacamole with a Baked Lentil Chip and you'll be happy. These beans are not spicy at all--I can't tolerate spicy food.

Pantry staple

We have been buying these beans for a while, as we make burritos quite often. Price here is better than we can find locally.

Best refried beans I've ever eaten

I buy quite a few Amy products locally but hadn't seen her refried beans. I actually ate half the can with some chips last night. Worth the price. Just delicious.

Not chunky enough

I like my refried beans to have a lot more chunks in it, and while this brand isn't bad at all, it's just really creamy and smooth and not what I'm used to with refried beans. It's like the difference between smooth peanut butter and chunky peanut butter, they're both peanut butter and they both taste pretty much the same, but the texture in your mouth is different and that's kind of what I wanted from these refried beans, a chunkier, more whole bean taste.

Great vegan beans

These are organic pinto beans that have half the salt of normal beans and are loaded with protein and fiber. They are also certified organic and have no GMO, so this is a pure can of refried beans that I use for nearly all my Mexican food dishes. It's also great as a dip for chips, and it has a nice smooth creamy texture. You taste the full flavor of the beans, because there's nothing else in this but beans, which is refreshing.

Very good alternative product for regular beans.

This is what I mix with my nachos and tacos! I love it because its low in sodium so its healthier. This is also good for people who are on a diet and for older people who needs to control sodium intake. Very good alternative product for regular beans.
