Reviews For Organic Quinoa Penne Pasta

Great Pasta!

This pasta is firm, tasty, and has normal texture! Not mushy like rice pastas I've tried!

- Nancy

Ouinoa pasta is so good and for those who want to cut your carbs, this pasta is a protein instead of high carb. I use all types in all my pasta dishes. Everyone always compliments any dish I make and they do not know it isn't regular pasta. One more way to cut carbs from your diet and add more protein

Love Ancient Harvest!

See my full review of this brand's gluten free pasta on the Elbows page...but to sum it up all their pasta is great, you can't tell it's any different than a gluten full pasta and you can't beat the price here on Thrive!

- Samantha

What a great GF staple! We keep this in the pantry for a quick pasta dinner. It tastes great and is affordable.

Pasta for a "pasta-bender"!

Transitioning to Vegan was nerve wracking primarily because I love my pasta! I cook them for the minimum recommended and I am beyond thrilled with this entire family of pasta!

- Roberta

Eh corn

Corn is the first ingredient. I didn't like that. Also the taste isn't as good as I was hoping! Won't buy again :/

Too bland for me

I switched over from wheat pasta to quinoa, but this first try wasn't as great as expected. The penne is natural that's for sure, with only organic corn flour and quinoa flour as the listed ingredients.

But the flavor is too bland, even compared to wheat pasta, which at least has that nutty grain taste that I like. When I made a tomato sauce, I couldn't really taste the penne, which isn't good. You want to have a good flavor with pasta, no matter what it's cooked with, so I can only muster up three stars for this.

Good Pasta

My sister has a gluten allergy, so cooking for her during the holidays requires me to look out for and try new recipes all throughout November and December to ensure they'll be okay. My family finds it a bit of a scavenger hunt of sorts, so they enjoy helping me find what I need. For our pasta this year, we decided to try this Penne. In the test run, everyone in the family agreed this is a pretty good pasta! It tastes a bit "tougher" than traditional pasta, but if you just cook it for awhile longer, it helps get rid of a lot of that. This is probably a "keeper" from our test runs this year.

Healthy Alternative

Our family has been looking for healthy alternatives to our favorites, so when I joined Thrive Market and happened upon this penne pasta, it was a given-we had to try it.

Upon trying it the first time my kids and hubby both said they loved it and could hardly tell it wasn't wheat pasta, but instead a gluten free alternative. We use penne a lot in our house. I generally use it in place of macaroni, ziti, or rigatoni noodles so it is used in dishes from mac-n-cheese to baked ziti (or penne in this case!) I love it, my kids, love, my husband loves it-is a great quinoa pasta in my book!
