Packing a brown-bag lunch every day doesn’t just benefit your budget—it’s good for the planet, too. Eating out might be convenient, but if you do it frequently enough, you’ll quickly notice how much the downsides add up. Not only can it be pricey, but you might not be able to find healthy options nearby your school or office, which leaves you at the mercy of fast food. Bringing your own lunch means you can control the ingredients, stick to your diet, and stay within budget. Another benefit of homemade meals? They help reduce waste. Enjoying leftovers won’t get thrown away, and reusable containers help eliminate reliance on plastic bags and takeout containers.
The History of Bentology
Founded in 2001 at Laptop Lunches, the company switched its name to Bentology after a 2015 rebrand. California mom Tammy Pelstring wanted to encourage families to pack more lunches—and have a little fun while doing it. She first had the idea when her kids were young and she realized that most “homemade” lunches that ended up at their school included prepackaged foods and other items packed in foil, plastic wrap, or bags. Pelstring believed there had to be a better way, and set out to develop packing solutions to make lunch eco-friendly.
Bentology Company Mission
Bentology encourages families to make nutritious meals together, and offers easy, eco-friendly ways to enjoy them on the go. Whether you’re packing school lunches for your kids, brown bagging at your corporate gig, or making it through a long day of travel, Bentology has lunch boxes, bags, and insulated cups that empower everyone to make healthier choices.
Benefits of Bentology
Bentology’s collection includes bento-box food storage, insulated bags and mugs, jars, napkins, and more. The bento box storage boxes are one of the brand’s most popular items, and come in both five- and six-piece sets. The carrier systems are made from premium-grade polypropylene that is BPA-, phthalate- and PVC-free, dishwasher safe, and long lasting. Watertight lids ensure liquids don’t spill, and the color combinations offer something for everyone.
