Chebe

People ask us all the time how this delicious bread with the funny name got its start. My wife, Ju, was born and raised in Brazil. During my travels there I fell in love with a unique bread product which she had grown up with called pao de queijo. It’s a Brazilian cheese bread served literally everywhere you go. People sell it on the streets. You can buy it in grocery stores. And fine restaurants serve it daily. One taste of its crispy crust and moist, chewy inside and you’ll understand. Which is why, when we left Brazil, we decided to take it with us and share it with you. Here’s where our story takes a little twist. When we started Chebe in 1999, we never intended to market a gluten-free product. It just happened that our naturally gluten-free bread was a hit with those suffering from gluten intolerance. Shortly thereafter, Ju coincidentally began to experience health problems that triggered a severe intolerance to gluten. From that day forward, we've been committed to making shopping easier for those with gluten and allergen issues. Because simple, natural products taste better and are better for you, we strive to keep Chebe products natural with as few ingredients as possible. So that’s our story. We hope you enjoy our products as much as we enjoy making them. Tasty, fun to eat, and free of many common allergens…that’s Chebe! See More
