The History of Royal Hawaiian Orchards
Royal Hawaiian Orchards has been locally growing and cultivating macadamias in Hilo, Hawaii for more than 60 years.
The company's macadamia nuts have a notable flavor and quality, thanks to their unique surroundings; the lands are nurtured by a tropical environment and the volcanic soils.
Since 1948, Royal Hawaiian has been dedicated to producing wholesome, sweet treats for everyone to enjoy.
Royal Hawaiian Orchards Company Mission
Over their decades of committed macadamia growing, Royal Hawaiian has been dedicated to health, wellness and “living Aloha.”
The Hawaiian culture is deep-rooted in appreciation for the natural resources the island provides. “Aloha aina” means to love, nurture, and care for the land - things that Royal Hawaiian stands by in its production of macadamias.
It wants to provide these flavorful treats to consumers while also remaining sustainable, out of respect for Hawaii’s delicate ecosystem.
Benefits of Royal Hawaiian Orchards
Royal Hawaiian knows what it's doing when it comes to macadamias - it has been doing it for more than half a century. It proves that respect for its crop - and for nature - by using locally sourced products, practicing sustainability and turning waste into fuel.
The company conserves water by relying almost completely on rainfall or irrigation, and it has rejuvenated hundreds of acres with plans to do the same for hundreds more. It also recycles and reuses every part of the nut to support their future batches of macadamias. That includes using the hulls of the nuts to compost and nourish the soil, with used macadamia nuts burned as an energy source to fuel production facilities.
