About This Brand

A better tasting bar made with nutritious, wholesome ingredients to sustain energy.Building a sustainable businessIn 1990, Gary Erickson set off on a one-day, 175-mile bicycle ride with his buddy Jay. As usual, he packed six energy bars for the ride—using the only bar on the market at the time. Halfway through the ride, exhausted and hungry, Gary realized he just couldn’t eat another unappetizing, sticky, hard-to-digest bar. Then and there, in a moment he now calls “the epiphany,” the inspiration for the CLIF® Bar was born.Gary took his idea to the best baker he knew, his mom, and for the next few months the two experimented with ingredients and recipes—mixing, baking and tossing out bars that weren’t good enough. Finally, Gary settled on the right recipe—a better tasting bar made with nutritious, wholesome ingredients to sustain energy. He named his creation CLIF Bar in honor of his father, Clifford, the man who introduced him to wilderness adventures and encouraged him to follow his...

Love these!

This is my new dessert!!!!

- karina

sooo good!

Tastes amazing, filling and good for recovery. Loved the regular cliff bars so much, and these are just as yummy and energizing! So impressed with the texture, the crunch, the chewy caramel even, like a candy bar but is healthy! Rate highly.

- Britt

Amazing Bar!

I love my chocolate & mint! This bar tastes amazing & I always feel full after I eat one for at least 3 hours afterwards. Highly recommended if you're looking for a high protein bar & you love mint!

- Stephanie

I sometimes eat these for breakfast because they are so good an the protein in them is enough to keep me full a while. They are also great post workout for a pick me up and to help muscles recover quicker.

Pre-workout treat

I eat one of these about a half hour before my workout to help give my muscles the energy they need to really push through. The flavor is to die for. I love the mint.

Post Gym Snack

Less chalky tasting than most workout bars, and less clawingly sweet

- Carmen

I use it before my workouts.

I use it before my workouts. It has a really high amount of protein, 20 grams! My favorite is the chocolate mint one. It’s really chewy and it’s like having a candy bar plus the healthy ingredients. If I’m running late for work, it’s also a great meal replacement option for when I don’t have time for breakfast.

- Herbert Wells

A good protein bar.

really sweet candy bar. The Builder's Bar doesn't suffer from that. The downside to the Builder's Bar, however, is that it does have a bit of saturated fat. In sum, not a bad bar and much tastier than many of the other protein bars I have tried.

- Phil S.

Tastes good

I love chocolate and mint together, and this bar does it well. It's a tasty protein bar that's still low glycemic. It gives me a good boost after a tough workout.
