\n I only recently discovered quinoa. I like the mild taste of this one, and I intend to try toasting it for 10 minutes prior to cooking to see if I get the pleasant, nutty flavor I have been hearing about. As it is, I love the texture and versatility of quinoa. This particular variety does not seem to have much of its own distinct taste, but the red color stands out when I use it for cooking. It's more of a red-brown rather than bright like a tomato or pepper, so it looks best when set against something green or white. <\/p>\n

\n I read up a lot on quinoa when I wanted to change my diet, and it was amazing. Quinoa has no gluten, and it's loaded with iron, vitamin B, magnesium, calcium, potassium and fiber. It's a great source of protein, low in fat, low in calories and pretty much a perfect food. TruRoots organic red quinoa has a great flavor and is great by itself or with vegetables and free-range chicken, which is one of my favorite dishes. <\/p>\n
