\n There is a restaurant in my area who serves miso soup with the smallest tofu bits in it. This was so strange challenged my friends to find a miso soup with smaller bits. No one could. Well, I think that restaurant uses this brand of miso soup. The making of it is very easy, hot water done. Nice. I like foods I can doctor up to whatever taste I need, but with miso..... all I could think of is soy sauce. That worked, but I needed more, so garlic powder and ... OH, oil. I added olive oil as I was out of sesame, so good. I may not need the oil every time, but it did silky up the texture nicely. The small tofu bits.... did soften up fine, but I would like bigger bits, or more of them, to make this a meal more than an appetizer. For the last time I made this I used a baked tofu, cut up a serving and ate it with the soup, all together yummy. The seaweed was random sizes too. I don't think this would be good for bringing this with me, but to get a fermented food into me quick it works fine. <\/p>\n

Adding a few bits of chopped, raw button mushrooms to the broth adds another layer of flavor (the boiling water cooks them sufficiently). \n I really enjoy this soup but maybe its because I didn't have that the expectation that it should taste exactly like the restaurant version, which is what other reviewers seemed to have an issue with. The sodium is really low and I love the tasty pieces of seaweed. I like to add a dash of Japanese chili pepper for flavor and like that the this soup seems to have a bit more unami flavor than the other varieties I've tried. Worth a shot especially for the price. I'll continue to buy and find this to be a satisfying and convenient low calorie option on cold days. <\/p>\n

\n Not true miso soup, but good for Non-MSG ans non-Aisan company. Most Miso's have more dehydrated bits and flavoring to bump up the taste. I think I've rather take the time to the Asian market and get the non-MSG instant Miso instead.

\n I love miso soup! But this miso soup is no good. It has no flavor and tastes nothing like restaurant quality soup. I hope to try other brands in the future. The miso is powdered in this brand, so that maybe why there's no flavor. <\/p>\n

\n This doesn't taste like regular miso soup I've enjoyed in restaurants. Maybe that's why I wasn't particularly fond of it. I don't usually eat miso soup at home, so I'm not sure what a reasonable quality for "instant" miso soup would be. That being said, I'm not particularly fond of this. I'll probably finish the couple that I bought, but I probably won't buy it again. If your used to eating home-bought quality soup instead of restaurant quality, you might like this more. <\/p>\n
