I tried this in a breakfast scramble and the flavor was just fine, but it's silken and I prefer the texture of reg tofu so I'll have to buy that somewhere else since thrive doesn't carry it. \n I'm giving this three stars because I haven't tried a lot of tofu but do want to expand on brands, textures and flavors. I made the first box of the Mori-Nu extra firm silken tofu with a spicy soy marinade and ate it with rice and it was great and I have plans for the second box. I am super happy with this brand and type of tofu so far, and am just happy to be on a tofu journey. Definitely worth trying out!! <\/p>\n

\n I have a \u201cthing\u201d about certain textures so I can only eat extra firm tofu. If you\u2019re new to tofu... silken is better for homemade smoothies and dressings (like a Caesar salad dressing). One off my favorite things to do is to marinate some extra firm tofu with some amino acids, with a heavy weight applied on top to drain the excess liquid overnight - and then pan fry in the morning with green onions... but you can do that with silken because it will fall apart with its delicate \u201cflan-like\u201d texture. The taste is the best however, after homemade of course... but if you\u2019re expecting non-silken tofu when you order this, you\u2019ll be surprised... but I find it more versatile than non-silken tofu. <\/p>\n

This is a superior product!! My only issue is that when I purchase from Thrive I am limited to twenty items of this product and order regularly and purchase for five staff members which means I am purchasing monthly and paying for delivery!! They explained that the product needs to be available for others but seriously, this is a business, first come first serve! I am purchasing for five individuals so what does it matter to whom they are sold? Disappointed. Thankfully I have found a place who offers this for a few pennies more, free delivery, and no limit as to quantity we can purchase. <\/p>\n

I prefer the extra-firm for cutting into cubes\/strips and steaming, frying or using in soups. the softer versions are good for making recipes requiring smooshed tofu, like making iced bars or 'pate' types of dishes. All Mori-Nu has great taste- no aftertaste or sourness, and picks up flavors from herbs, seasonings, syrups and sauces quite well. <\/p>\n
