Why You’ll Love It

The Pulled Pork Bar was inspired by the worldly travels of our Director of Operations and realized following a multi-week pulled pork al pastor taco binge in Central and South America. The end result is a religious eating experience catered for the EPIC carnivore. Although the noble pig is most often known for its delicious and mighty belly, we at EPIC like to use other delicious cuts of our favorite animal. After the launch of our bacon bar, we wanted to balance our utilization of the animal by developing a bar using other high quality whole muscle cuts! The pulled pork bar allows us to source leaner meats of the pig while staying true to our commitment of creating EPIC tasting snacks!

About This Brand

EPIC products don’t just focus on good taste—they also want their foods to nourish the body and mind, while also being conscious of the land and of the animals that contribute to their line of products. The story behind the EPIC brand EPIC was founded by Taylor Collins and Katie Forrest after they both became vegetarians, oddly enough. They both assumed that a healthy diet was entirely plant-based and that the best sources of protein came from soy or other highly processed options. They ate a lot of carbs and very few fats, just like nutritional experts in the media advised, and they also tried going vegan and doing a raw food diet. It didn’t exactly work as hoped since their diets only made them sick with gastrointestinal distress and other inflammatory ailments. Taylor and Katie didn’t know how to maximize their wellness, so they looked for answers in the whole foods diets that our human ancestors consumed. This is also known as the Paleo diet, which focuses on foods that...

Disappointing

I love a competitor's brand, but was looking for more variety. Tried this, because the nutritional looked good, and I love pulled pork....what a disappointment!! Some would say they are moist, to me they were greasy, and I hate greasy. Did not taste like pulled pork AT ALL!! Tasted a lot like summer sausage and I don't care for summer sausage. I will NOT be purchasing again.

Not a fan of this flavor

I have tried numerous different Epic bars and have enjoyed pretty much every flavor. This bar is not one I enjoy. I regret buying an entire container of these because I don't like them at all. Bland flavor and no pineapple flavor at all.

- Ally

GREAT

These are the best protein bars. Really like all the different variaties.

excellent ingredients and flavors

I've tried most of the epic bars and like to think of them pretty much as jerky bars because that's the closest texture. Ingredients are outstanding and I appreciate so much the commitment of this company to healthier to-go products that are not loaded with sugar and garbage. No, I don't get much pineapple flavor from this one, but the combination of flavors including the cilantro is a good one that I actually like quite a bit. About the only flavor variety I've tried that I haven't cared for a lot has been the turkey almond and only because - to me or at least that batch that I tried - seemed kind of heavy on a cumin flavor. But it all comes down to individual taste. They do sell individual bars at many retailers so best bet is to buy some individual ones to try the flavor and then come back to Thrive to buy the cases of the ones you like.

Bizarre

I really want to like these Epic folks. I like what they're trying to do. But sometimes I think they are actively trying to see just how bad they can make something taste. Fortunately, these pork bars are WAY better than the completely inedible lamb and turkey versions, but the pork is just.... funky. Spam comes to mind. Spam, with way too much cumin. I just don't get it...

A little disappointing

I liked the idea of pork and pineapple, but I don't taste any pineapple in this bar, so it's a little bland.

Epic Pulled Pork Pineapple Bar

Quality, price & taste work for me.

Nice on the go healthy snack.

Pretty salty not bad though.

EPIC Pulled Pork with Pineapple

Great taste with a little twang!

- Richard

OK

These have a good flavor, but the Beef Habanero Cherry are my favorite!

- Jay

Eh.

Super salty, not pineapple-y, and the texture is weird. Stick with the bison cranberry flavor.

Garlic!

My toddler loves these bars as a snack on the go. Only downside: severe garlic breath :(

EPIC bars have been an acquired taste for me. I expected more of a jerky texture. Now I love them!
This one just doesn't get 5 stars, mainly because of the overpowering garlic.

So Good!!

These are so good. I really enjoy them, especially on the go. They are one of my husbands favorite snacks too. A great alternative to jerky.

Needs a little more Pineapple

This pulled pork bar is pretty good. I wish it had a little more pineapple, but overall I enjoy these bars. They aren't extra chewy or hard making them easy to eat.

- B.T.Hayes

Where's the pineapple?

Good overall, but you don't really get the pineapple flavor. The pulled pork texture is great, fairly soft considering. Epic bars are a lifesaver for when you're on the go and need a snack you can feel good about.
