Reviews For Blueberry Vanilla Protein Bar

Good taste, too much sugar

I must have misread the nutrition panel before I ordered these, because I did not realize that a 2 oz bar had 14g of sugar! That's a TON. Surprisingly the flavor isn't very sugary, if anything the tart flavor of the blueberries comes shining through. I would order these again if I wasn't fructose intolerant.

Crickets are now a staple

These bars came in handy so many times - great protein/meal replacement bar. Nice flavor and satisfying. The only downside is the price! Environmentally sustainable, but not quite there for the checkbook yet.

wish i could enjoy ):

i'd like to start off by saying that i've tried different flavor variations of exo bars before, and haven't liked them either. I really support the company's mission and ideas, so i really really wish that i liked these. Prior to buying this product (along with a box of the banana nut ones), i had tried the pb&j and the apple cinnamon one. I really feel like they all taste the same - and i'm assuming that it's from the crickets? It's very bitter and has a sour, acid-like after taste. The bars are very oily, probably to compensate for the dryness of the cricket flour. Everyone else's reviews seem to be extremely positive, so I'm not sure if I just received two boxes of flukes. But honestly, they taste really awful & I am thinking of how i'm going to finish these. I'm still giving this 3 stars because they are incredibly filling and have a great mission. I hope they improve the flavor of these because I would really like to continue supporting this company.

wonderful

One of the best. No cricket taste, but crickets. I just wish they were less expensive.

- Simone

crickets!

Who knew? I love these bars and it's always fun to tell people I'm eating cricket flour.

My husband LOVES these!

My husband takes one to work everyday and his co-workers are always asking for a nibble because of the novelty factor. So far no one has turned up their noses! Ever since we saw the documentary about insects saving the world (paraphrasing title), we were hoping to find something with cricket flour. Don't be afraid of this, the UN even recommends more human consumption of insects for food.

One of the best tasting bars I ever had!!!!!

The exo bluberry vanilla bars are absolutely perfect! I was really excited to hear they were made from cricket flour, although I was hesitant to try them due to the reveiws. I have no idea what they were talking about I didn't get a bit of grasshopper flavor, only down to earth blueberry nutty goodness. These will be great for anyone who does outdoor activitys the bars are heafty and filling, much better than those one ounce bars out there. I love them and hope they continue! I could have done with some disposable packaging to make them even more Eco freindly, but it doesn't detract to far from the excellent product! Oh there is also a bit of sugar in it so it is plenty sweet, could have done with some organic brown but hey it's a great bar!

tasty crickets

I found the cocoa flavor dry and very hard to eat but I enjoyed the pb&j flavor. It tastes like a pb&j sandwich on Ezekial bread with almond butter and not a lot of jelly. So, a healthy pb&j not a wonder bread with tons of grape jelly sandwich. Good though

Crickets are Delicious

Folks, this is the future. And it's delicious.

Perfect texture with lots of nice, real, plump blueberries, not the so-called "natural flavor" that most other bars contain, and almond chunks for some crunch.

Prefer the other flavors...but still Exo-llent!!

My favorite Exo bar is Apple Cinnamon as I found the Blueberry Vanilla to be a bit on the oily side (from the nut butter, I think) but it's still delicious and packed with goodness.

Worried by the cricket flour...

WOW, these aren't bad!!! Don't let the cricket flour fool you or discourage you from buying them. Its not bad at all, the blueberry and strawberries in them really are the key ingredients is what I picked up in the flavors, only thing I didn't care for was the texture if you are a texture person it was a bit grainy for me but I think that was from the berry seeds but over all the flavor was great... I will for sure try the other flavors they have.. YUM!!

- Shamae

Taste chocolate-y

Crickets must taste mildly of chocolate because both my little one and I thought this bar tasted like it had chocolate in it...and the only ingredient in it that I haven't tasted on its own is the cricket flour. Poor crickets...if they really do taste like chocolate, we might eat them to extinction!! Yum!

- Danica

Mmm, crickets! :D

These are really good! They taste a lot like a blueberry muffin. Like a Larabar, kind of. But they use crickets! Which is cool because they're sustainable and apparently... delicious! :)
