Bambu Home
Efforts to minimize your environmental impact can feel overwhelming at times. That’s why we love brands like Bambu that make it easy to embrace small changes to your home—without breaking the bank. Bambu’s hand-crafted, USDA Certified Organic products (like cooking utensils, serveware, platters, straws, and more) are made with eco-friendly bamboo, which is grown and harvested from wild sources rather than farmed plantations. Bambu’s materials aren’t grown with pesticides or fertilizers, so it protects local farmers, as well as you and your family.
The History of Bambu
Bambu was co-founded by Jeff Delkin and Rachel Speth in 2003. They wanted to help build excitement around sustainable materials while maintaining ethical business practices. The company is headquartered in Oregon, and its products are sustainably manufactured in China. There, all materials are locally sourced and the products are made by native stitchers, weavers, and woodworkers.
Bambu Company Mission
Bambu’s mission has remained unchanged since the company was founded: to reduce our reliance on plastic by offering customers beautiful, hand-crafted products made from nature. Sustainability continues to be an essential pillar to Bambu’s business model. It’s continually seeking third-party certifications and testing, promoting safe working conditions and fair labor practices, and working to make its supply chain as green as possible.
Benefits of Bambu
Opting for eco-friendly home products has lasting benefits, including minimizing exposure to potentially harmful chemicals, and supporting companies that adhere to sustainable business practices. All of Bambu’s products are “food safe,” which means they either meet or exceed third-party safety testing that follows the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Consumer Product Safety Council (CPSC) guidelines. When it comes to materials, Bambu uses food-safe oils, natural finishes, and water-based adhesives. Additionally, all of its products are USDA Certified Organic. Not only that, but with the exception of just one of its products (Bambu’s Wood Grain Finishing Oil, which is made with beeswax), the entire line is vegan.
