Vigilant Eats

High-protein, low-glycemic, nutrient-dense cereal that tastes terrific. It all began at the beginning.... the beginning of Doug Siegel’s day. After years of studying nutrition and the benefits of using organic real foods to create a healthy diet, Doug perfected for himself a cereal of organic oats, goji berries, cacao nibs, cinnamon, and natural sweeteners including coconut palm sugar that friends had started to call “Doug’s Daily Dose.”Doug convinced everyone who visited him to eat his cereal. His friend, Del, enjoyed it so much that she encouraged him to sell it to the world.Says Doug, “I became interested in changing my diet after having some health issues, mostly digestive. I became a protégé of Dr. Jack in New York, which deepened my interest in how food choices can affect health. Then, in 2007, Doug began to experiment with adding more raw food to his diet and noticed his energy levels skyrocketed. An interest in raw foods led him to purchase more food directly from the source: family farms. At the same time, he became very aware of the laws regarding access to food directly from the farm.“Policymakers weren’t always fair or supportive of good health and common sense,” says Doug. “I’m an advocate for fighting government regulation that promotes corporate interest over the health and wellness of the public.”Doug has worked hard to ensure that Vigilant Eats cereal has unadulterated ingredients that work together to make a high-protein, low-glycemic, nutrient-dense cereal that tastes terrific.“It was important this cereal be good for everyone—that’s why it’s certified organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, and vegan,” says Doug. Not only that, Doug wanted Vigilant Eats to be something that could be taken anywhere—from the yoga studio to the soccer field to the office. So, he’s included a spoon and created a formula that lets you add cold water (or milk) to the cereal wherever you are. See More
