The benefits of chicken broth

In addition to being a commonly used ingredient in the kitchen, chicken broth is also one of the most nutritious ones. Made by simmering bones, chicken, and vegetables into a pot of water, this broth contains a wide range of nutrients and delivers numerous health benefits:

  • Low calories – Chicken broth is a food that is naturally low in calories. A single 8 ounce serving will provide roughly 40 calories.

  • Low in fat – A single serving of chicken broth also contains less than 2 grams of fat. That translates to even easier weight loss success and reaching those goals.

  • Improved metabolism – The numerous amino acids that are found in chicken broth can help to improve the overall antioxidant levels in the body and increase metabolic function.

  • Improved digestion - Pacific Foods Organic Free Range Chicken Broth is also easy to digest, and can help promote and improve intestinal issues.

  • Better detoxification – Broth contains potassium as well as glycine, two components that are linked to better cellular detoxification and improved liver performance.

  • Better immune system performance – Chicken broth has long been a home remedy for colds and flus, but studies have recently found that it can indeed have a direct influence on the performance of the immune system.

Pacific Foods Organic Free Range Chicken Broth not only provides the body with nutritional benefits, but it also delivers a rich, delicious taste that can improve the flavor of almost any recipe. It's important to note, however, that chicken broth does contain sodium. Therefore, it’s important to use in small amounts to avoid a spike in sodium levels.

NO COMPARISON ON THE MARKET

The best chicken broth ever! You just can't find something of equal value on the market - even with the top name brands!
This broth adds a certain "something" to your dish - that little kick/boost that makes soups and broths (and even gravy)taste like your grandmother spent all day slaving over the stove to make for you!
I no longer purchase chicken broth at my local grocery stores - Thrive Market, don't ever run out!

- Donna

convenient

This tastes like their large both box but it's so much more convenient to have close to the needed amount for a recipie. Worth the little more you pay for it.

- Sydne

Tastes delicious and works perfect for gravy, soup or to cook your vegetables in!

- Leah

Top Notch

I love this product, because it's organic, and best of all, it doesn't have wheat flour , soy or yeast as an ingredient, like so many other brands. So, I highly recommend if you want healthy good tasting broth

- Laura

good but has sugar

It's good but I bought this as it says on the ingredients list on this website (and also on the picture of the nutrition label) that there is no sugar. However, when I got it, it has cane sugar as one of its ingredients. The label for what I received says:

Chicken Broth, Chicken Flavor, Sea Salt, Cane Sugar, Onion Powder, Turmeric Extract, Rosemary Extract

I did receive what appears to be what I ordered... As I said, it's still good and the size is very convenient. But the ingredient list and label picture should be updated.

Very good broth with a nice flavor, I use it all the time

TASTY AND HEALTHY TO BOOT!

The taste wasn't out of this world, I won't lie to you.....but, it was equal or better than regular can of chicken broth. I like the added benefit of knowing that I can put the remnants in the fridge without having to find another container, or specific space to fit it. Also, the fact that it is made from organically raised, free range chickens fits into my health style. The price is definitely right!

- Susan

Good Stuff

Perfect and Easy to use!

always on hand!

I love that this broth doesn't have weird ingredients like almost every other kind I find does! Even other "Free range" or "organic" options have sugar or preservatives I don't want. This is great for sautéing, soups, and kicking up basic dishes, so we always have some in the pantry and it is used often.

- Stella

A quality product

I am thrilled to be able to get this tasty, free range chicken broth. It is hard as heck to find at my local Whole Foods store, so when I see it at Thrive, I snap it up. I use it most often when cooking rice -- delicious! I feel good that it as clean and healthy a product as I can offer to my family and that the chickens themselves aren't abused for my family's privilege of eating meat. Clean, healthy, happy farm animals = clean, healthy, happy diners!

- Cheryl

Nice that it is organic!

The flavor is not very strong and could really be added to any soup without changing the flavor. I prefer a slightly stronger flavor but would order this again based on how healthy it is!

- Penny

Perfect for Singles/Couples

So I don't like to buy the bigger cartons of chicken stock because unless I plan to cook a couple meals that require it, it ends up going to waste. These little 4 packs are the perfect amount for my husband and I. I use them to cook my gluten free ramen (also from Thrive), or in dishes that I cut down for just myself or the 2 of us. The best part is I'm saving anywhere from 30-50% on these by buying them on Thrive Market! Sometimes these are on sale at my local grocery store but in general they are anywhere from $4-$6 so thanks Thrive for carrying this product!

- Samantha

Great price and quality!

I love how good of a deal this is for good quality broth! And the small packages are very convenient.

- Anastasia

Great taste great price

I love that Thrive carries a 4-pack now. I used to always buy the single containers of broth, but this is a great deal for the times I'm making dinner for one! :)

- Becca

Not good

This is the worst-tasting chicken broth I have ever tasted.

- Jessie

Awesome Taste!

I recently started eating and cooking healthier due to a medical condition. It's been hard, especially because a lot of the "good-for-you-food" doesn't taste very good. This free-range chicken broth is an exception. It tastes great and I'm going to use it in everything!

Just Like Grandma's

I use a lot of my grandmother's recipes. She made her own chicken broth, something I don't have the time or patience for. This Pacific Foods Organic Free Range Chicken broth is the best. My family loves it and I love that it's made from free range chickens.
