YOU JOIN, YOU GIVE

Giving back is possible with your help!

Our mission is to make healthy living easy and affordable for everyone. That’s why when you buy a Thrive Market membership, you’re also donating one to a low-income family, teacher, veteran, or student. We also provide educational content and grocery stipends to our Gives members. That way, we can all Thrive together. If you or someone you know needs a Thrive Gives membership, apply now.

WHY IT MATTERS

Every year, 80 percent of low-income families resort to buying food they know isn’t healthy just to make ends meet. Meanwhile, more than 23 million Americans today still live in “food ... Show More deserts”—low-income neighborhoods without healthy food. This lack of access contributes to a number of illnesses, including: diabetes, heart disease, and more, costing our country hundreds of billions of dollars and compromising the quality of life for millions of people.

MEMBERSHIPS

We work with nonprofit partners like Feeding America to distribute free memberships to the families and individuals they serve. We also allow people to apply for a free membership right on Thrive Market.

EDUCATION

We offer custom educational content to our Thrive Gives members, from shopping lists to recipes to a 22-part video course about how to live healthy on a budget. Learn More

SPREAD THE HEALTH

Thrive Market customers have the option to donate a portion of their savings at checkout, and every dollar donated goes directly into the shopping cart of a low-income Thrive Gives family. Every month, our members donate grocery stipends for more than 1,000 families. We capture data indicating that these additional funds help our Spread the Health members lead healthier lives by helping them form new healthy habits. Learn More

GIVES MEMBERS VOICES

“My husband has been in the Army for 15 years. We have active twin toddlers that keep us on our toes. It's hard to get a variety of healthy, organic, and ethnically diverse options when we live so far from a large city. Most of the service members are away from home for two to three weeks each month and are unable to help their spouses with simple tasks, like watching the children so we can make the long trip to get groceries.”

“I'm a first-year teacher working in the lowest paid district in my state. There aren't many options around me to buy healthy foods. Even fresh produce is really expensive - I only buy fruit in about one out of every four shopping trips. On my single teacher's salary, after rent and other necessities I only have about $200 a month to spend on food, so even when healthy products are available, they're out of my budget.”

“I'm a third-year student, paying my own way through college and living on a 20 hour-a-week work study job, while still attempting to keep a healthy lifestyle. I am a vegetarian and try to eat clean as much as I can. However with my current job paying next to nothing and my hectic life as a student, it is so hard to find inexpensive food and also find time to make clean meals. I would love to get started on a more healthy and non-GMO lifestyle.”

GIVES MEMBERS VOICES

“As a family with 2 special needs kids who eat diets specialized for their health issues, it is often hard to find quality food without ordering them online or traveling several hours to stock up at our favorite stores. Thrive would allow us to order regularly the foods that we need to feed our family, snacks free of artificial dyes and preservatives so we can continue with the Feingold diet for our oldest son, so our family can heal from the inside out, without breaking the bank.”
