Infused with Certified Organic ingredients and potent bee-produced compounds, Beecause is reimagining the way we think about personal care and household cleaning. This unconventional brand is setting a new standard for natural home essentials through raw, unrefined formulas that don’t compromise the environment or its inhabitants. It all started with founder Jonathan Ledee’s own health struggles and his journey to find gentle but effective everyday products he could trust. What started as a personal passion soon evolved into a growing bee-powered brand that still maintains its commitment to safety and sustainability. Here’s what you should know about this un-bee-lievable line of products.
The History of Beecause
Beecause was founded by Jonathan Ledee who, at the age of 26, suffered a rare disorder that nearly crippled his entire body. After a slow and tedious recovery, Ledee became increasingly aware of what went into the products we use every day and reconsidered their safety. He felt it was time to develop a personal care and household cleaning brand that stood firm on never compromising ingredient safety for the sake of design, profit, simplicity, or demographic. After creating some recipes in his own kitchen, made from raw, unrefined and organic ingredients primarily produced from bees (like beeswax and honey), Ledee knew he had discovered something special. But he also knew that to craft a line of sustainable, bee-driven products without GMOs, parabens, or sulphates would require additional measures to protect the population of bees. Today, Beecause is exceptionally unique in its manufacturing practices, which put the pollinators first by handcrafting small batches of products from its Brooklyn-based hive in an effort to minimize impact.
Beecause Company Mission
By putting the safety of bees as well as our own safety at the forefront of everything it does, Beecause veers from traditional manufacturing practices for the sake of delivering an earth-friendly, healthy product. In order to bring true meaning to their “CAUSE,” the brand is dedicated to focusing on these specific issues:
- C - Climate
- A - Agriculture
- U - Urban living
- S - Sustainability
- E - Environment
Benefits of Beecause
To reduce the risk of toxins that may contaminate the environment, our bodies, and, of course, bees, all Beecause products are formulated using raw, unrefined and Certified Organic ingredients that are free of residue from pesticides, synthetic chemicals, and fertilizers. Beecause is also a completely cruelty-free brand. The company has joined forces with PETA’s (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) Beauty Without Bunnies Program and abstains from all animal testing during every phase of product development by the company, its laboratories, or suppliers.
