Why You’ll Love It

Naturally low in fat and loaded with vitamins and minerals, turkey is an exceptionally dense source of nutrient- rich protein. This delicious bar is loaded with almonds and cranberries to add both texture and balance to the dominant meatiness of the turkey. We finish the bar with a hint of tandoori spice that further enhances the flavor and naturally increases shelf life. About This Brand

EPIC products don’t just focus on good taste—they also want their foods to nourish the body and mind, while also being conscious of the land and of the animals that contribute to their line of products. The story behind the EPIC brand EPIC was founded by Taylor Collins and Katie Forrest after they both became vegetarians, oddly enough. They both assumed that a healthy diet was entirely plant-based and that the best sources of protein came from soy or other highly processed options. They ate a lot of carbs and very few fats, just like nutritional experts in the media advised, and they also tried going vegan and doing a raw food diet. It didn’t exactly work as hoped since their diets only made them sick with gastrointestinal distress and other inflammatory ailments. Taylor and Katie didn’t know how to maximize their wellness, so they looked for answers in the whole foods diets that our human ancestors consumed. This is also known as the Paleo diet, which focuses on foods that...

Epic turkey bars

VERY disappointed! I have loved the Epic beef and bison bars and wanted to try the turkey. I found them to be very dry and tasteless :( The extremely dark color also concerns me. Turkey should be lighter than red meats.

- Ellen

Will purchase again!

I purchased the turkey, the salmon and the venison for keeping a gluten free, protein snack available with me on the road. I liked all three and will purchase all three again, however this is my favorite. I really like the added cranberry and almonds, very tasty! It reminded me of a trail mix. They are not greasy, not dry. So far I have tried numerous protein bars on the market and I have found these to be the best, by far.

- Cassandra

Very different but tasty quality ingredients

These bars are a crazy mix of turkey jerky ( but thicker and softer), and a cranberry almond bar.

Kind of nuts and berries in a matrix of tasty chewy turkey.

I've never experienced this type of bar before, but it was very good. Glad I got a case!

- Barbara

Epic Turkey

These were not good at all.

- Kari

Healthy but Oily

These were not wonderful. They are oily and not terrifically flavorful, either. I really wanted to like them and I'm sorry I spent so much on this whole box.

- Bette

These are good!

I really think these are a great product! I wondered if I would like a "meat bar" before I tried them. They can be used as a snack or part of a meal on the go. Very tasty, I love the crunch of the almonds and the seasoning.

- Carol

Yummy

These were yummy and im not a fan of turkey in general. Great on the go snack. My 3 yr old even likes it.

- Justyna

Love these

Great flavor. On my second order and these are now part of my daily diet routine. Only criticism is the texture of the almonds is a bit strange but maybe that's what happens when you bury them in meat. Overall though, these are a really enjoyable mid day low carb snack.

- Neil

I have never liked jerky!

I purchased this bar at my local health food store before buying a case at Thrive to make sure I'd like this because I do not like jerky...too salty for my taste. And I waited until I was really hungry before I tried it. I tried it an hour before lunch when it was too early to actually eat lunch. This bar was fantastic! Will definitely buy again!

- Patricia

Couldn't take the Turkey

Loved the concept, ingredients, etc. but could not handle the taste/texture of this almond cranberry turkey at all. Buy one before you spend so much on an entire box - I like almost everything and was surprised but found them unpalatable, even after trying them several times over a few weeks wanting desperately for them to be a new go to.

- Jamie

Great for On-the-Go

I was not sure at first bite about these bars, the combination of turkey and cranberry sounded delicious but adding in chunks of nuts to the jerky was a bit surprising. I have come to like the taste and will definitely be re-ordering so I can toss them in my gym bag, back pack for weekend trips away from home or biking, outdoor activities. Highly recommend!!

- Jennifer

Really, good, will order again!

I was not sure about trying these when I read the description, but I am very glad I did. They have a nice combination of turkey flavor, with a slight tart accent from the cranberry, and the seeds top it off nicely. The first time I tried one, I was super hungry but also super busy, and I used it as a meal. The protein kept me going for several hours. This would be great for a snack on the go, small meal replacement, etc.

Epic Almond Cranberry Turkey

Enjoyed the taste & quality

- sharon

Great buy

Great taste and low calories love it!

- Tammy

Great pre/pro workout snack

This is my first time trying a meat bar. I was hesitant at first, setting myself up to think these are going to be gross, but they're delicious! They are not too dry at all! I would have a bit of it before a workout if I am a little hungry, or have it after. I love these!

- Stephanie

i love these!!!

i'm so happy i found these. seriously. they make meal planning on the go and snacking infinitely better. the best way to get protein on-the-go!

- stef

Awesome snack!

I recently did a Whole30 and this made an awesome snack! It is high in protein and helped to fill me up as I am learning to eat better. They are also nice when traveling to know I have a healthy option and don't have to stop at a gas station or fast food restaurant.

- Emery

Really Dry

Not a huge fan of the taste of these... they're really dry and the flavor is off-putting. I've kept them at my office in desperate times since they're high in protein but I wouldn't purchase this flavor again. Love all other Epic products though!

- Mallory

Not Consistently good

I enjoy these bars when they are FRESH! It seems to me that when I have found them to be dry it was probably due to sitting in the store too long & getting old. So, try to buy them in a place where the turnover would be better (if you can tell or find out)! Not sure how helpful the "Best by" dates are for determining freshness but presumably buying them much before that date would be a good indicator - so I check that. Not sure how to do that purchasing a case from Thrive. Perhaps they can tell us if we converse with someone in customer service? Other than all that, I appreciate being able to get turkey jerky of higher quality and the cranberries add that traditional turkey with cranberry sauce punch. Also, the protein content is higher on these than say the Bison bar and is the perfect amount. I guess for some people to get a proper portion of protein they would have to eat 2 of the Bison bars (22 gms).

- Christina

Disgusting!

Another reviewer said you had to be Very paleo to like these and boy is that an understatement. Tastes like some kind of odd meatloaf with nuts and cranberries. Texture is awful. My dogs loved them but way too expensive for a dog treat.

- EDIE

Disappointing

I accidentally got these confused for the turkey bricks bars and ordered these. These are not nearly as good as the Bricks Bars. These are quite dry, bland, and hard to eat. We probably will end up tossing them, unless we can find someone to give them to.

- Lauren

Best Quick Protein Ever

I keep these in my purse because they make a great snack or mini meal. The Turkey is my favorite because of the texture. It is a little more firm than the other types.

- Lindsey

Delicious

These bars make up about 50% of my poorly planned lunches. They are filling and tasty. I'm a huge fan of this flavor.

- Charlene

Least Favorite

Of the three bars I have tried already, the turkey is my least favorite flavor. I seems rather "dry" to the tongue. I guess it's more of a texture thing than a flavor problem.

- Mark

Can't get past the Cranberry

I have tried a sample pack with all 3 flavors (bison, turkey and beef). I simply can't get past the fruit in it. They seem to be great quality ingredients and I think I would love them if it wasn't for the cranberry bits. Sure wish they made a meat only version.

- Crystal

Favorite!

My favorite Epic Bar.

- Karen

Love Them

I love the meatiness and the little sour punch of cranberry and then the crunch of the occasional almond bit. Some seem to have texture issues, but I found none with mine, I thought the texture was great. My problem is sticking to just one during my snack break!

- Janine

Interesting taste

When I first heard about these I wasn't sure what to think. But knowing how much I love jerky, I figured it couldn't be that much different. And it's not.

These are really kind of like eating a great trail mix all mashed together in a tasty snack. I like how the flavor of the cranberry and almonds compliments the turkey.

- May Neely

Not All Are Great

I love my Paleo diet, but it takes some getting used to in order to find snacks that I can grab on the go. This is one of the things that I can eat. I really love the interesting mixture of tastes. The turkey and cranberry mix together in this really unique taste. It's a bit tart, but it has a hint of sweetness as well. It's a nice mixture that I really enjoy.

There do seem to be some quality control issues though. It's not Thrive's fault, but some of the bars have had to have some gross parts pulled out of the bar (even bone once!) I think EPIC needs to do a better job of watching what goes into these.

- Jacob D.

Does taste good

I was a bit adamant in the beginning to try these. A meat bar? How odd. But I am happy I did. While they aren't my favorite snack food, they really do pack a nice kick of protein and energy. They are the perfect post-workout snack.

I never have to worry about a lack of energy when I have some of these on hand.

- Akilah

Paleo bar goodness

I just started eating Paleo and I was happy to find these. I love eating snack and granola bars, and I love jerky. To me, this is the combination of two things I love. And, it fits into the new lifestyle.

They taste great. Nuts and berries are always good together and the cranberries add a little zing to the flavor.

- Gia Ealey

Proten rich snack

EPIC turkey bars pack a heavy punch. I'll eat two before a workout and feel so much more energized.

The blend of almonds, cranberries and savory turkey is really nice and gives you a mix of sweet and savory, which I love. And Thrive beats Amazon by almost five bucks on a dozen of these. Can't get these at my local store, so having them on Thrive at an affordable price makes it even better.

- Karina Moser

Some good, some inedible

Let me start out by saying that if you get a good bar, these are fantastic. Lean, tasty and not at all difficult to chew, a 'good' bar will make you happy.

Unfortunately, I found some duds in my package, bars that were rough with pieces of muscle that weren't edible. I read up and Epic has had some issues with some bars that theyr'e trying to clean up.

- Ken

Great for Paleo Diet

Paleo Dieters will love these meat bars. They're not really jerky as they're not made with the same drying process.

Turkey is lean, low fat and healthy. I wish the sodium was a little lower, but that's a very small complaint. This has a big turkey taste with a nice blend of sweet and savory when the cranberries kick in.

- Kari Murray

Yummy, healthy goodness!

I'm a bodybuilder and these turkey bars are great for a post or pre-workout pick me up.
I like that I can read the ingredients and there are extra vitamins and minerals packed into the bars. Cranberries and almond together are delicious. Add turkey and I'm hooked! It's the perfect amount of protein with a great flavor, not like some bars, which are too strong or too weak.

- Domingo Alvarez

GREAT bar

I love these bars! I don't eat red meat, so I was glad to find these turkey bars. I'm not entirely paleo, but I am trying to eat a lot more cleanly. Can't get much healthier than almond, cranberry and turkey, and the other simple ingredients in these. Plus, the meat is grass fed and antibiotic free. Strange that we must rejoice when we can find something like this, but there it is. Much tastier than gas station jerkey too.
