Better than my blade grinder

I've been unhappy with my French press coffee because I can't get the right grind with my blade grinder. An electronic burr grinder is out of my budget for now so I opted for this. It's not perfect and the grind can be a little uneven but it still made a world of difference compared to my old set up. My coffee tastes so much better. For the price, I'm happy with it.

Great coffee grinder

I love this little handy grinder. No power needed, (except a little man power), and you are minutes away from freshly ground coffee. If you aren't in to making ANY effort, than you may want to go for an electric, but I love this one. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys the complete coffee experience.

Very inconsistent grind

I didn't have huge expectations for this grinder considering the price but even at only $16 it has very inconsistent grinds. It appears the ceramic female blade can wiggle around a bit between the male blade which causes uneven gaps between the grinding surfaces. At whatever setting you choose there will be grounds that are coarser and finer than you want. The overly fine grounds have been causing clogged filters whenever I use a pour over method. For some brewing methods this issue may not be as big of a deal but I primarily brew with a V60 and I've had clogged filters with all grind settings except extremely coarse, like peppercorn sized grinds. Another observation is how cheap some of the components are, the blade base is made out of plastic and prone to breaking, if you look at reviews online of the JavaPresse which is identical to this one only double the price, there are a lot of reviews that show how easy it is to break the plastic blade base. I believe this will be an issue with the Eugenys grinder as mine came with a spare base. I'd say save yourself time and money in the long run and invest in a good grinder, otherwise you'll get more consistent brews by having your bag of beans pre-ground at your local coffee shop with their high end grinders.

Grinds well for small batches

This is an efficient grinder for small batches of coffee like two cups at a time. It does take a little time to grind whole coffee beans. The flavor of the coffee seems to be a little bit stronger than if I were to grind the coffee beans in a processor.
