Winemaker Frédéric Moureau was pulled to the vineyards from an early age. With farming in his blood—Moureau’s grandfather is also a winemaker—he received degrees apprenticed at nearby vineyards before returning to his Loire Valley roots. The estate takes a minimalist approach and embraces biodiversity, avoids toxic chemicals, and utilizes cover crops and compost. Even as head winemaker, Moureau recognizes his role is to let nature lead and “stay out of the way as I guide the wines from vine to bottle to table.”
