After a decade of visiting some of the wine industry’s most famed appalations, the region that impressed the Aquilini family most was Red Mountain, on the far end of the Yakima Valley in Eastern Washington. When land came up for auction in 2013, the family acquired a parcel and began crafting their stellar bottles. With the region’s cool evenings and blazing hot days, extreme temperature shifts lead to intense and refined flavor, while the gentle slope provides natural drainage to protect the fruit’s delicate root systems.
