About This Brand

EPIC products don’t just focus on good taste—they also want their foods to nourish the body and mind, while also being conscious of the land and of the animals that contribute to their line of products. The story behind the EPIC brand EPIC was founded by Taylor Collins and Katie Forrest after they both became vegetarians, oddly enough. They both assumed that a healthy diet was entirely plant-based and that the best sources of protein came from soy or other highly processed options. They ate a lot of carbs and very few fats, just like nutritional experts in the media advised, and they also tried going vegan and doing a raw food diet. It didn’t exactly work as hoped since their diets only made them sick with gastrointestinal distress and other inflammatory ailments. Taylor and Katie didn’t know how to maximize their wellness, so they looked for answers in the whole foods diets that our human ancestors consumed. This is also known as the Paleo diet, which focuses on foods that...

Delicious but Dry

Ok, these are super delicious, a great protein snack. But they are so dry if you eat them without a drink you could literally choke.

Wish They'd Make a Less Peppery Version

Zero grams of sugar - that's a great thing. I like having a salmon bar after kickboxing, hiking or cycling. You must like
black pepper, and plenty of it, to enjoy these bars.
The first time I tried one, it made my mouth feel chalky/dry like tannins in wine do. I haven't noticed this occurring with the last box ordered. I have found these bars are somewhat addictive. I would like if they offered a less peppery version.

Full of omega 3s, but too salty

I only eat this bar because it's a great way to get my recommended daily omega 3s. But I actually find it's too salty and too peppery.
It would be great if they added tumeric to this bar.

Will purchase again!

I needed something to slip into my purse for a gluten-free, protein rich snack to keep me out of trouble on the road. I really liked these, but warning they are spicy with black pepper so have a drink on hand. I liked the spice, and I like the texture of the bar. It wasn't greasy, wasn't dry. I will purchase both these and the turkey/cranberry bars (they are really tasty too) again.

I really wanted to like these BUT

they were so salty they were completely inedible. Way too peppery too. So sad

Salmon sea salt & pepper bar

I really liked this protein bar, but it is pretty strong of a fish taste to it. I love salmon, so that wasn't an issue for me. I think the protein was very high which kept my tummy full for a long time, and I liked that. The only caveat is that it does give you Fish breath, so keep a toothbrush handy! I give it four out of five stars.

Luv them

Love them!!! They make eating healthy when u r super busy so much easier!!!!

- Lucie

Disappointed

These bars were SO peppery. All I could taste was black pepper. Also the texture was very stale and hard. They're not as chewy as other Epic bars. Do not recommend.

Spicy and Perfect

The salmon Epic bar is one of my favorite flavors. It is a little drier than some of the others, but I like that. It has the perfect amount of spice.

Flavorful by dry

I like the idea, but it's too dry to make it a go to snack.

Paleo on the go!

I LOVE these! Truly a great find for me as a pescetarian with celiac disease, on a grain free diet, it is difficult to find something tasty and portable. High protein - great snack or even a meal replacer. They are dry, very much like a venison jerky (from my former meat eating days). I think the flavor is great. Thanks!

- Kyla

Great protein, but very dry

I found these to be extremely dry and difficult to eat. Great flavor, although rather spicy from a lot of pepper, but they could have added a bit of fat (especially as salmon fat is a very healthy fat!) to help it go down more smoothly!
