Reviews For Fair Trade Coconut Daily Face Lotion SPF 15
Based on 25 Reviews
Color is very appealing
Color and texture are very appealing. It is not too thin and not too thick. It does leave my face white in some places especially around my mouth and lips. Be careful not to use too much at one time. Only a very small amount is needed. It does need to be blended in completely.
Good Product, Mostly A Sunblock
If you want just a good sunscreen, this is great. If you're just looking for a daily face moisturizer to put on each day, this isn't it. Stays white on your skin, similar to zinc oxide. While I'm sure it's a great sunblock, it's not the best daily face moisturizer for this reason. Thick, but watery at first, which is to be expected with coconut.

This product is not rich or creamy, it's quite watery instead. What I like least about this product is that it turns your skin white like applying a sunscreen cream would do. I don't care for the consistency or how pale it makes my face look at all.
Best for summer
This is the perfect face lotion for the sunny summer months with the addition of SPF. Light, pleasant fragrance.
Doesn't rub in well.
I recently bought this face moisterizer right along with the face wash. I love the face wash but the moisterizer is too thick and doesn't rub into my skin well. I have melanin in my skin so it made me appear ashy and pale.
Protection At Its Best
I am outside watering every morning.... this lotion is easy to apply before I go out.. cover my face, neck, chest and arms..... sinks into the skin quickly.. not greasy feeling left behind.
Light and creamy, smells great!
A little goes a long way
This works well, moisturizes and helps fight sunburn. I use it daily on my face, but put a little extra on if I know I'm going to be out in the sun for a while. Make sure you don't use too much or you'll really have to rub it in. It also creates a great base for my mineral powder.
Feels like suntan lotion
Both my wife and i tried this and we felt like it wasn't a moisturizer as much as a suntan lotion. It was very thick and kind of tingly when I put it on my face. Saving it for outdoor time.
Good natural sunscreen
Great natural sunscreen. Due to the natural ingredients, you do get a bit of "white face", but that is just how it is with ALL zinc oxide sunscreens, no matter what brand. Zinc oxide always makes my skin feel super soft and soothed. Good basic skin protector.
I was under the impression that this was moisturizer. Upon receiving the product, it seems as if it is more of a sunscreen. The "lotion" smells great and is very thin. It was not what I was expecting, but it's still a great product for what it is.
Gives you ghost face
My skin is beige and after applying this and rubbing it in as much as I can it leaves a layer of white over it. I did wash my face completely, let it dry, and only used one pump on my freshly cleansed face. I had to splash my face with water and dab it off again in order to get the white off. The only reason I didn't give this one star is because it smells good and did make my face soft after I managed to get the excess off.
Leaves a Sheet of White Film
I was really excited for this face lotion, but now I can't use it at all. Even though it is only SPF 15, it covers your face entirely in a sheet of white film. You can spend an extra 10 minutes trying to rub it in, but I found that it just smears all over. Also, if you wear foundation or BB cream, it doesn't blend at all.
I was really bummed about the results, so I wanted to give y'all a heads up if you were considering purchasing it. I also got the night version (without SPF) and it works like a dream!
Perfect Daytime Facial Moisturizer
I have been exploring healthy skincare brands, and the Everyday Coconut (Alaffia) skincare line is feel-good perfection. Feel-good because of the fair-trade sourcing of ingredients, and perfection because it is the perfect balance of emollience and quick absorption. I often step out into the sun without thinking about sunblock first. This is the perfect solution. Per ounce, this moisturizer is a fantastic value, and I can't imagine using any other brand moving forward. My normal/dry skin can also sometimes be oily, and this lotion gives my face a dewey glow! Please don't ever stop carrying this line.

Good for everyday
Some might think this is a little runny but I like how smoothly it went on and soaks in quickly. Perfect under my make up, and smells great!
Tough to rub in
It is a little tough to rub in. It takes figuring out the right amount and having a little patience til it absorbs, but once it is on it is nice and light feeling. Non-greasy. And I like that it has sunscreen.
The Angels N Me
Not bad, not great...
While I kind of enjoy the scent and definitely like the SPF, I'm finding this lotion neither rubs in well nor moisturizes my face. My skin has started to dry out a little since using this face lotion and, while this may be winter-weather related, the lotion certainly isn't helping. Bummer. Perhaps for an oilier skin type this would be just the ticket, but not for moi.
Not a great scent
I felt this is too thick and the scent was too sun screen "smelly" for everyday wear on my face. I would use if going to the beach or a hike, but will have to find something else for my face. It has papaya and cocount, which is nice but it has an underlying scent that is kind of medicinal and it does not rub in very well.
While I was excited to try I was shocked at all the liquid that came out so I shaked vigorously and the consistency was more solid but I was shocked at how sunscreen like and white it was so it took a bit to smooth it out and get the white streaks out but I was so so on the product but then I felt my skin and it was so soft I use the entire line and I love this will take getting used to
Doesnt rub in
Weird consistency, doesn't rub in well!
Great face cream but a few tips
This is pretty thick and very white. Seems to be easiest to apply when my face is slightly damp and only a small amount is used. Rub in gently until it's no longer white and thick. This line of face cleanser, cream and lotion have been divine! Highly recommend!
Thick, Leaves Residue
I would have to agree with the other reviewer, I thought maybe I just had a bad bottle. The moisturizer is so thick, doesn't absorb into your skin well. Not the light, creamy day moisturizer I was hoping for! I have the night cream equivalent of this and love it. I've been using it for day and night!
Working well for someone outside a lot
Great value. I've been wearing this daily for a few weeks now. I work outside and love that this is just a physical sunblock. I usually do not wear it with makeup, but have tried it under a mineral powder foundation with no issues. I am break out prone but haven't noticed this causing pimples. With the zinc in there you can get a bit of the white chalky if you put a lot on or it gets caught in your eyebrows, but certainly no worse than any other zinc lotion I've tried. I will reorder when it runs out, but that should be awhile!
It is hydrating, but it's too thick and leaves residues on your skin. I thought my skin was peeling out, but it was the cream. I had to wash my face at work, it looked pretty bad :(
