Why You’ll Love Organic Oat Beverage - Original
While you could enjoy your coffee and cereal with soy milk or almond milk, it might be time to make the switch to another non-dairy option with oat drink from Pacific Foods. Oat milk is what happens when you soak organic steel cut oats in water, blend the mixture at a high velocity, and then strain it. The result is a creamy, delicious, and dairy-free blend that has just a subtle hint of sweetness and a bit of grainy texture that tastes great on its own and can be used to enhance a variety of foods, also including smoothies, puddings, and other desserts.
Baristas across Europe swear by it for mixing into lattes and cappuccinos, and it looks as if science is getting on board with the trend, too. A 2015 study from Sweden (where the drink is most popular) found that producing oat milk created up to 41 percent less greenhouse gas emissions than producing cow’s milk, which makes it an environmentally-friendly choice as well. In fact, the study concludes that oat milk has “demonstrated great potential for reducing climate impact,” while preserving grazing land and ecosystems for local wildlife.
Making alternative milk the Pacific Foods way
Pacific Foods Organic Oat Beverage may not be made in Sweden, but it is made with love and care and under the highest standards in Oregon where the company has existed since the mid ‘80s, creating premium foods and empowering farmers. Pacific celebrates minimalism and believes that food is best when made with simple, fresh, organic ingredients.
Pacific Foods makes this hearty Oat Beverage with 100 percent USDA certified organic ingredients, including oats, oat bran, and sea salt, and then fortifies the drink with riboflavin (vitamin B2), and vitamins A and D2. A trace amount of gellan gum is also used as a thickening agent to help the drink maintain its favorable consistency. The drink is also verified by the Non-GMO Project, and because there are no animals involved there is no risk of antibiotics or synthetic hormones with this milk. It’s also vegan, soy-free, and nut-free to appeal to a wide range of diets.
Health benefits of drinking Pacific Foods Organic Oat Beverage
For any number of reasons, many choose not to drink dairy-based milk. Fortunately, oat drink can be a tasty alternative that’s loaded with healthful ingredients and essential nutrients like protein, iron, calcium, and fiber that can benefit overall well-being.
- Heart health: Oat drink naturally contains high amounts of fiber, which has been proven to lower bad cholesterol levels and help prevent heart disease.
- Blood pressure control: Eating hearty grains like oats may help reduce blood pressure and lessen the risk of hypertension.
- Weight management: The complex carbohydrates in organic oats are slowly absorbed in the body, which provide the sensation of feeling full and can cut down on cravings that lead to over-snacking. This also helps to stabilize blood sugar and control (or even prevent) the onset of diabetes.
- Antioxidant power: With rich amounts of vitamins A and D, this oat milk is fortified with a number of antioxidants that work to fight free radicals that can damage cells and lead to a number of illnesses and diseases. In fact, Pacific Foods Organic Oat Beverage contains 10 percent of the FDA’s daily recommended intake of vitamin A, which is about twice as much as cow's milk.
- Stronger bones and teeth: Pacific Foods Oat Beverage is rich in calcium (with 35 percent of the daily recommended amount in just a one-cup serving). This essential mineral helps to strengthen the entire skeletal system and stave off osteoporosis as you age.
Cooking with Pacific Foods Organic Oat Beverage
While this creamy, earthy beverage tastes great on its own, it’s also a great accompaniment to many sweet and savory recipes. Here are some of Thrive Market’s favorite ways to incorporate oat milk and always enjoy it.
Pumpkin spice is about to get even more obsess-worthy when you add oat milk to this flavorful smoothie recipe. To make you’ll also need pumpkin puree, banana, Medjool dates, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, cloves, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and vanilla extract. It’s perfect for fall or anytime you want to enjoy dessert for breakfast.
Good to the last drop, indeed. The childhood favorite, cereal milk, gets a whole new twist with these fun doughnuts. Soak cinnamon crunch and corn puffs (or really any kind you choose) in oat milk for five minutes. Then remove the cereal and combine the liquid with almond flour, baking powder and baking soda, coconut oil, coconut palm sugar, and vanilla to create a dough that is baked instead of fried. Any leftover milk is used as a glaze, which is topped by even more cereal and chocolate chips. Great for kids and adults, these doughnuts will be a new household favorite.
Not everyone is into coffee. But there is another way to get a healthy jolt in the morning. Combine Pacific Food’s Organic Oat Beverage with raw cacao powder, maca powder, lucuma powder, ashwagandha powder, and raw honey for an overload of superfoods that will revitalize your morning routine and give you a much needed pick-me-up during the long afternoon stretches at work.
More about Pacific Foods

Ever since, Pacific Foods has tracked all their ingredients, ensuring that all animals are treated kindly and that the footprint used to make them is as small as it can be, like using packaging that doesn’t require refrigeration. Today, the Pacific Foods product line includes wholesome stocks and soups, purees, sauces, and meat and dairy alternatives that all aim to make a world of difference.

"Milk" without a lot of other flavors
Sometimes you want something like milk that doesn't add its own distinctive flavor. For my part, I can't get used to mashed potatoes that taste like coconut or almonds - it just doesn't work for me! Pacific oat beverage fills the bill - although it doesn't have the creaminess of real whole milk, it's about the same as skim milk and adds very little flavor to clash with other foods. If anything, there is a slight grain flavor, which is not at all unpleasant - at least to me. And wonder of wonders, when I drink it straight out of the carton, it satisfies my craving for milk! And that's something coming from the daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter of dairy farmers and whose beverage of choice used to be whole milk (before I found out I was allergic to corn, and the corn that dairy cows are fed goes right into their milk). So, if you want to try something that will give you a "milk" equivalent, without the added flavor, this might just fit your needs.

This is a great milk alternative. I love to use it in smoothies and with protein powder. The taste is great and with no weird aftertaste or anything
Price and Packagine
Both very good -- easy to order and boxes came to my home quickly.
Deliciously (naturally) sweet!
I personally think that this is the best vegan milk alternative. It tastes delicious in coffee, with cereal, and by itself. I do find it very sweet though, but the sugars come naturally from the oats, so it's not a big downside. If you also don't like the sweetness, try mixing this with hemp milk to tone it down. I do that for cereal, but the sweetness makes my morning coffee taste deliciously naughty (without actually being naughty!).
I love this stuff, especially in cereal. Reminds me of the milk leftover in my lucky charms bowl from childhood. :)
Favorite Milk Alternative
Love the flavor and texture of this oat milk. It is a little on the sweet side but makes a great homemade hot cocoa.
Organic Oat Beverage
It's organic and it tastes great in recipes. I've tried making my own oat milk to use in recipes. I like drinking homemade oat milk but for recipes, I prefer Pacific brand oat milk.
family loves it
This is our go to drinking milk alternative. kids and husband even love this milk. (do do not prefer it for soups, coffee, and such though)
I am quite ecstatic that Pacific Organic Oat Milk is so readily available; and affordable priced through Thrive Market. I recommend this product; and have used it for several years. I prefer over any other dairy free milk options. I'm grateful to Thrive Market for stocking this, as well as other high quality selection.
I love this alternative to dairy. Great with cereal, coffee brandy, but not so great in coffee.
Was skeptical before I bought this but have been back for 3 more cartons. GREAT taste and very creamy - you can use in coffee, teas, or just drink it as well as cooking substitute for "milk".
Smooth, creamy, nourishing, and flavor full! Great for an end of the day beverage. An excellent late night treat.
Love this milk
High on Iron and many other vitamins.
I was hesitant on trying this product, but I love it and have replaced all regular milk with it!0
Very Tasty Milk
We love this milk and the nutrients that it packs, especially the iron.
The only "milk" I can have and it's a $1 cheaper than the grocery store!
Great with coffee
I shared my two cents on this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/GOrZu1JZs8I

I like the Oat milk because it is thicker than most alternative milks.
Great job, love the oatmilk; taste is so delicious and the fact the oat milk is organic is even better! <3
I love it. I need milk in my coffee, it's good alternative and taste amazing !!!
I love it. I need milk in my coffee, it's good alternative and taste amazing !!!
Good for you
Kids love and so do the adults. It isn't bad for you, doesn't contain bad things, and it tastes really good. Goes well in anything I make without ruining the flavor.
Use this instead of milk and love the flavor more than all other milks. Love in coffee, teas, smoothies and baking.
Great with cereal!
Good product, great price
My son has a dairy allergy so the Dr suggested he drink oat milk or coconut milk. My son ended up loving oat milk and we go through about 5 containers a week. At the grocery store it's 3.09 and we can only get it at one store which doesn't always have it in stock. The price at Thrive is great especially since we go through it so fast and shipping time is pretty fast. I definitely recommend buying oat milk from Thrive.
I'm so glad I found oat milk on my search for a non-dairy alternative. It's so creamy and smooth, and has a really nice flavor. I also REALLY love the ingredients list - no added sugar, but it's sweet. No thickeners or additives like carrageenan. I ordered three in my last order and just wish it came in bigger packages ;)
My favorite milk alternative
There a million non-dairy milk options, but this one is the best. I love it in smoothies!
I've been trying to cut back on dairy and I'm also weaning my 1 year old from breastmilk and talked to her Dr. about my desire to not switch her to cow's milk. She completely supported that choice and said Oat milk is the healthiest option for this, followed by Hemp milk. My daughter loves them both! For me - I've tried Almond, Coconut, Hemp and Oat and Oat is by far my favorite to drink alone (I'll put any of them in a protein shake). I actually like Oat milk more than cow's milk! It is so good, you won't regret trying it!
Good Milk Alternative
I have never cared for milk, even on my cereal, so decided to try this. I have been very happy with it. It tastes good and stays fresh in the fridge for quite awhile. It is also good in coffee or tea. It does tend to get a little thick the longer it stays in the fridge, but I haven't had it go bad even after a few weeks.
Left a grainy aftertaste.
I've never been a fan of oatmeal because I can't get past the texture. But I understand that there are so many advantages to consuming it. I came across this oat beverage and thought that it would be an alternative to having full oats.
The flavor of this drink wasn't too bland, which was good. The consistency was more watery than milky and I used it in my cereal and in smoothies. Drinking it by itself was the only issue because it left a grainy aftertaste in my mouth that I didn't enjoy. Other than that, it derives so many great values that it's well worth getting over the taste.
Dairy Milk Substitute!
When I learned that I was dairy intolerant I was devastated. I love rich creamy things and most often, those come from cows milk. I eat a lot of cereal so this milk was my first choice when trying to preserve flavor. The flavor is not over the top or to bland. It is Certified Organic and Non-GMO which are both very important when buying manufactured foods.
I bought this "milk" back when it was a pull tab rather than a twist off. I would often break the pull tab and have to open the box with a fork. Soooo very happy they changed that. I would buy this again but, would prefer other flavors like Vanilla or Chocolate.

Great for cereal!
I've been dairy free for a few years now, and I feel great. Unfortunately, I was having a lot of trouble finding a good substitute at first. It's tough to find non-GMO soy milk, I was not a fan of Almond milk, and there are other risks with Rice milk. It's enough to make your head spin!
I LOVE this drink! It tastes a bit like oatmeal, which makes sense as they share the main ingredient. The mouth feel is light and smooth, and the taste is just a little sweet. There's no weird aftertaste like with almond milk, and the flavor doesn't overpower whatever I'm eating or drinking it with. All around great dairy replacement!

Perfect delicious alternative to soymilk
I found out about Thrive Market very recently and was seriously considering buying a membership. I was looking meticulously at everything they had to offer and I came across this oat milk. I'd never tried or even seen oat milk before, but it was perfect timing. My boyfriend is gradually making the switch to being vegetarian so increased consumption of soy is almost inevitable. I've been trying to find an alternative to soymilk that I could drink every day without the harmful effects of excessive soy consumption. But alas, I don't like almond milk, I don't like coconut milk, and the prices on hemp milk just didn't seem justified based on how flavorless and nutritionally inferior I found it to be. I realize all of that is just me being picky, but I like what I like.
So I decided to try this oat milk, and it made me so happy. I have some every morning with my cereal and it just adds such a rich, hearty flavor that makes everything I use it in feel 'cozy.' Almost in the same way hot chocolate is cozy. It's not overly oaty and it goes really well in my afternoon smoothies too. The only place they offer this cheaper is Wal-mart, and only if you buy 24 at a time, and the difference is only pennies (not even a nickel) per unit. I definitely don't want to spend my money there so for all intents and purposes, Thrive Market has the best deal on this oat milk anywhere. I would recommend it for people who are trying to avoid dairy or soy and are seeking a full bodied, full flavor alternative.

Best milk alternative!
This is my favorite milk alternative, even my kids love it! It's sweet without any added sugars and it doesn't have that bitter after taste that a lot of dairy-free milks have. I use it in hot chocolate for the kids and as creamer for my coffee, it's delicious in everything! I highly recommend this organic product!
My picky toddler approved!
Trying to weed out dairy for my 2 year old. I think her constipation is due to dairy. She loves oatmeal. I used the oat beverage as milk in her oatmeal and substituted it as milk in our waffles today. Yummy, I could not tell the difference at all. I'm sold.
Great alternative to dairy/nut/soy milks. Love the flavor!
This is DELICIOUS
I am now absolutely IN LOVE with oat milk! It's so yummy. It makes my oatmeal and granola taste even more oat-y and delicious.
