Reviews For Vietnamese Brown Rice Spring Roll Wrapper
Based on 20 Reviews
My first time making spring rolls and these worked great! I submerged them in warm water for about 10 seconds and they wrapped great! Not quite as pretty as my favorite thai restaurant, but pretty close!
Convenient and just like any other rice paper
Though the wrapper tears quite easily--I think more so than regular rice paper--it is very convenient, doesn't stick together easily, and tastes just like its regular counterpart! Highly recommend for your spring rolls!
Delicious and Easy To Use
I was a bit nervous about these after reading some of the reviews, but they were far easier to use than I imagined. I've never made fresh rolls before but it went together like a breeze after a little trial and error. I found I had better luck running the wrap under warm running water instead of dropping into a bowl - the bowl method resulted in little tears as it softened lopsided. It's really easy to handle and sticks to itself really easily as you wrap. Not as chewy as I worried and had no noticeable flavor to distract from the filling. I'm thoroughly impressed and excited about the rolls I made.
Fabulous -- healthy and delicious
I love these wraps. They are healthy and delicious and come with a great recipe on the back for Vietnamese Spring Rolls. I make them in the morning and take to work. LOVE!
Easy to use!
I was concerned about others' reviews stating these are a challenge to work with. I moisten with water using a pastry brush (two of them works best if you like to over load with fillings) - VERY SIMPLE and so paleo friendly!!! Yes, they do get stretchy/chewy but, a great option.
Very good and easy to handle
Very easy to work with, stands up well to the water bath and isn't as fragile as "normal" wrappers. Has a nice taste and feel to it. Will buy again.
These guys definitely come with a learning curve (my first wraps crumbled/broke/fell apart) but the more I made them, the better they got! They're a lot of fun to put almost anything in, and the bag comes with a lot of them! Great deal.
Amazing Gluten Free Bread Alternative
Since I'm eating gluten free, I'm using this instead of bread wraps. They're cheap - for $3.45 you get about 20 wraps. AND the most wonderful thing is that they last for a long time without refrigeration, just like dry pasta. I keep them around and whenever I need to use them I just run them under the tap water to wet them, lay them flat on my plate and add fillings inside, just like with bread wraps. They taste wonderful. I actually double them up as well. Highly recommended.
Great for salad/spring rolls!
I love salad rolls from my fave local Thai place, but at $8 per box of 3 it's not an ideal expenditure. I ordered these and these are perfect for making copycat rolls at home! They do not taste much different from white rice wrappers and they are easy to use. I fill them with brown rice vermicelli, cucumber, mint, cilantro, carrot, lettuce and shrimp.
We hadn't made spring rolls at home in ages until we discovered these wraps. Now, we are making rolls on a regular basis. The brown rice adds an interesting texture and flavor to the wraps - not overpowering the other ingredients, just adding extra dimension. We highly recommend!
When I purchased these I thought they were actual wraps but when they arrived and I opened the package I realized I didn't actually read the description. Anyway, I just ran them under water for a second and put on a plate and within a few minutes they became pliable and gummy enough to wrap. They taste very good. I just ate them raw with veggies and guacamole stuffed inside but I'm sure you could bake them if you want them crispy. These are very good.
Great for homemade thai
Loved these. A few in the package arrived crack which makes them unusable for fresh summer roles. Tasty and fun and well priced, put some veggies and avocado in these and enjoy!
Not what I expected
These wraps come dried and need to soak in water before using. It has a rubbery consistency and the flavor is not exactly what I was looking for. They aren't bad though - just a bit extra work than I wanted.
You must try these!!
I was very unsure about these when I ordered them but when I got them I filled them with a chicken spice mix and was surprised at how much I liked them. I can't wait to try some other recipes!
Excellent Gluten Free Wraps
These spring roll wrappers were good! Definitely soak in water so it becomes pliable to wrap. The texture is kinda gummy, but you get used to it. The only downside is that, unfortunately, it didn't agree with my hubby. It caused some stomach discomfit for him. Overall, not a bad GF fresh wrapper!
Flew off the tray
Entertaining vegans for Christmas dinner, I decided on adding 'spring rolls' to the menu. The recipe was a blend of lightly roasted and totally raw ingredients. It took a bit of experimenting with the wrappers - I discovered that just ' submerging' them in water as suggested meant actually to leave them in the water for a while to thoroughly soak. Once they were well soaked, they did not break, whereas not fully soaked these had a tendency to break.
The soaked wrapper was almost like a 'rubber' disc, easy to wrap and handle. Of course it is what's in the spring roll, the wrapper is just to hold it all together and make into 'finger food'. Don't forget the dipping sauce.
These wraps are SO GOOD! I seriously love them, they never get boring because there are endless combos or what you can fill them with. I've even made egg rolls with them: Brush with olive oil and bake at 375 for 20-30 minutes (flip once). Just be sure there's not too much moisture in your filling or the steam will cause them to split open. My favorite filling is chopped & sauteed mushrooms with almonds, teriyaki sauce, and soba noodles. Yum!
Tasty but too thin
These wraps taste great, but I put the normal amount of veggies I usually do and the wraps did not completely hold together.
super easy and great!
Love these! they are a good size (smaller than most spring roll wrappers i've tried in the past) and really easy to reconstitute!
Good deal and good quality
I am making a lot of fresh spring rolls using these wraps. They pack in a good bit and roll easily. I am loving them.
