Why You’ll Love It

When you live on the coast of Maine, your life is ruled by water. Waves, gulls in the sky, the thrilling tug of a fish on the line. Our herring, mackerel, and kippers keep the clean bite of cold, clear water in mind. All our seafood has the snap of crisp offshore wind, and is made by people who grew up on the water. It's as close to "fresh off the boat" as you can get.

About This Brand

Foods reflecting naturally delicious New England cuisine and authentic Maine traditions. Bar Harbor Foods sits on a picturesque wharf on a beautiful sheltered cove in Downeast Maine. The cries of gulls echo across the water; the tide laps against pilings as the tie lines of the fishing boats stretch and creak in the sun and fog. This is where we make our premium specialty seafood – fresh off the docks of Maine.Willard M. Look founded the original East Machias Canning Company (now Look's Gourmet Food Company) in 1917, on a wharf at the head of Holmes Bay. It was Willard Look who first developed the successful process for handling and canning crab meat and lobster, a process that we still use today. While the business has expanded and changed over the past 85 years, Downeast Maine still inspires all our products. Reviews For Skinless Boneless Smoked Sardine Fillets

Based on 14 Reviews

Couldn't stop eating it!

This was so good that I couldn't stop eating it. I tried it because it had the vitamins that my body is lacking and I was so surprised with the flavor. I am not a fish person and it was easy to eat, and hard to stop.

Soooo good!

I've gotten used to the skinless, boneless sardines in the small tins you get at the grocery store. Love sardines, so decided to try these. The best I have ever tasted...large fillets which have a good smoked flavor but not overwhelming. I will probably drain them well and rinse them next time as they were a little salty for my taste but not complaining. I will be ordering these on a regular basis from now on. The price is excellent considering the tin is at least twice the size of the small ones I'm used to. Easy to open and no sharp edges. Very very pleased!!!

So good!

I love sardines but hate picking around the bones, These are so good with a great flavor! I ate them all in 2 days!! Also would be great in a salad!

- Carol

good

I'm not a huge sardine fan, but I eat them for their nutritional value. However, I thoroughly enjoyed them when i gently heated them in a pan and they are VERY good with anything tomato-sauce based.

Can't get enough of 'em

Great, HEALTHY way to get your fish oil! I never thought I could like canned fish ---- but these are an exception.

Smoky and delicious!

I really like the flavor of these smoked sardines! My favorite way to prepare them is mixed with chopped red onion, red bell pepper, capers, jalapeno and some lime juice. Yum!

- Catherine

Loved these!

Just tried these for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised!! I love sardines and have tried many brands, but these are the most flavorful, smoky, delicious! I put them on a bed of salad with a little lemon squeeze and they were great!!

Ordering more

I love this stuff. Need more.... I usually don't like sardines but this changes everything for me.

Absolutely Delicious!

Okay, first of all, I'm not a fan of any kind of fish in a can. However, these sardines aren't your grandmother's sardines. They taste delicious! The smokiness of the wood flavor and the fact they are pack in water sold me. They are also a sustainable harvested product, which means a lot to me. If you are fan of sardines, you will them. And the the price is great at Thrive Market is great ! I paid $4.00 at my local store, and they were on sale!

- Ann

GREAT!!!

I have been eating garbage compared to the flavor of this sardine. Tastes fresh. Will buy again!
