Why You’ll Love It

Smooth and silky, Throat Coat helps you sing it loud, say it proud, stand up and be heard. Slippery elm or Ulmus rubra (Latin for “red elm,” so called for its lovely reddish bark) is a beautiful, native North American elm tree. It’s the inner bark of this tree that is actually called “slippery elm” due to its, yes, slippery, smooth, and slimy-in-a-good-way properties. Combined with licorice and marshmallow root, we think this tea blend is like taking your voice to the spa—because we all need a little comfort sometimes so we can get back to being our best. Throat Coat is sweet, earthy and silky, with a distinct licorice taste.

Not as Strong as It Used to Be

I have enjoyed using this product for its soothing properties. It truly does make a sore throat feel better, however, the past few times I have purchased this product, I noticed that it isn't as strong as it used to be. When I have a sore throat, I've found it's more effective to use 2 teabags per cup of tea.

It works!

Love it!

Traditional Medicinal Throat Care

This company is one of the best in the line of medicinal teas. It's like a little bit of magic in a tea bag. I had a cold a couple years back that continued to linger. Someone suggested that I try this tea which I did. Within minutes there was movement with this cold and by the next day the cold was nearly gone!

Works great

My husband is a sales/management trainer who teaches 2 day classes weekly & this tea works great for helping to ease his sore throat after speaking all day long.

- Diana

A must have!!

This is a go to beverage in our home when any of us are sick. It tastes great and really works soothing sore throats.

- Jess

This was the best thing i had to control my strep throat.

Miracle Tea

I've been using this for years and have recommended to many friends and family. I'm always amazing at how fast and well it works. Paired with honey and cinnamon, nothing soothes a sore throat better.

great tea

I do a lot of singing and this is very soothing, before, during and after.

Not My Favorite, But Works

I am really not a fan of the flavor of this tea. It might have to do with the licorice root. It does, however, work wonderfully for keeping my throat wet and soothed when I have been doing a lot of talking. I also hear it's a must have for singers.

- Tamara Doyle

Not Just Throat Soothing

Throat Coat is one of the best teas out there, whether your are a singer, talk a lot, or just like to drink something healthy. The slippery elm bark is both throat soothing and calming when it comes to stomach issues, like peptic ulcers. It also contains licorice root, which is a natural pain reliever.

Love this brand of teas

Traditional Medicinals offers a number of great herbal teas that are also caffeine free. I like the ginger and the smooth move for good regulation, and this throat coat is also outstanding. This company cares about flavor, because every one of their teas has a distinct taste and aroma and it just soothes and comforts me when I brew it up. This is designed to soothe sore throats and for restoration if you have a cold.

Wonderful Sore Throat Reliever

I only want natural, organic ingredients for my family. From the food we eat to the personal products we need, I only purchase the best. I don't like giving my children cold medications filled with unpronounceable ingredients.

I'm so grateful for Thrive Market and their amazing prices. They also have a wide selection of the healthy food and products we were paying much more for at our local health food store. Thrive is a great company to deal with.

When I learned about Traditional Medicinals teas, I thought, perfect! I was right. The sore throat reliever is really good and does exactly what the name says. I love it, my husband loves it and the kids actually like it.

Prefer the lemon echinacea

This version of throat coat is OK, but I prefer the wonderful taste of the Lemon Echinacea one. Thrat coat is full of great stuff that helps ease and heal a sore throat.

Anytime I have a friend that is feeling under the weather this is one of the things I put in their get well card or basket!

- Ana Seltzer

Relief is in the Cup

I really like this throat coat herbal tea. It makes my throat feel instantly better after the first cup. I like to drink it before my throat really hurts because it really helps to prevent that from ever happening. If I do wake up or get a sudden sore throat that is bad, I still drink a cup of this tea and it makes it feel much better after the first drink. I love that about it-it honestly gives me instant gratification as far as my throat pain goes. It tastes great too! It is one of my favorite teas, especially when I am not feeling well and my throat hurts.
