Why You’ll Love Fair Trade Dark Chocolate With Forest Mint- 72% Cocoa

Endangered Species Fair Trade Dark Chocolate with Forest Mint – 72% Cocoa is a chocolate bar making a big difference. The company is committed to improving the world and our place in it by donating 10 percent of net profits to GiveBack Partners, including Chimp Haven, Rainforest Trust, Wildlife Conservation Network, African Wildlife Foundation, and more. Each charity is granted a minimum annual donation of $10,000 and is free to use the funds on projects they see most important. With over $1.2 million paid forward in the past three years, each chocolate purchase adds up in a big way to support organizations that help wildlife thrive.

The basics of cocoa

Cocoa is processed by harvesting cocoa beans and then allowing them to ferment and dry over time. These beans are like coffee beans and grow in similar climates in Colombia, Africa, Mexico, and elsewhere throughout Central and South America.

Once the beans are dried, they’re then cleaned and roasted before being ground to a fine powder. The key, however, is keeping cocoa natural and pure. When tons of dairy, sugar, and other flavorings are added to the chocolate, it quickly loses its rich cocoa content and becomes just another sugary food. Endangered Species Fair Trade Dark Chocolate with Forest Mint – 72% Cocoa is created with this in mind, and is made with only real ingredients for better tasting chocolate.

The Endangered Species story

Endangered Species is a family-owned business that sources their ingredients from sustainable farmers to create some of the best chocolate available. Best of all, the company believes in sustainable values that people feel good about and all their chocolate is fair trade, gluten-free, Non-GMO Project Verified, kosher, vegan, and certified by RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil). Since a percentage of all sales are donated to charitable organizations that work to protect endangered species, the company is both protecting the world and the animals in it.

I so enjoy the mint and this has a distinct and not over powering minty appeal.

- Susan

Delicious!

This is the best chocolate bar I've ever had and for over ten years, nothing else I've tried has even come close.

- Lisa

Yum and Helps Wildlife!

I really enjoyed the hint of mint and pure cocoa taste! I try to not eat sweets, but a little piece of this is always able to satisfy my cravings!
A major plus is that 10% of their net profit goes to helping wildlife! What's not to love?

- Becca

Chocolate

Very good quality chocolate. Ate the whole bar almost at once. B)

- Marina

Great tasting

I like dark chocolate but it's not normally my first pick. I wanted to "candy" to satisfy me while maintaining my healthy lifestyle and this is perfect. It has a great flavor and I love the mint in it. It does not have that bitter like some dark chocolate does. Heaven in your mouth and you only need a few squares to satisfy you!

- Brittany

Okay but not great

I used to eat these bars and they are okay but they have a very understated flavor so the mint is very mild. I would have liked the mint to be more robust. It was pretty much the same with the other dark chocolate flavors.

- Susan

Mint + Dark Chocolate = Sold.

I love mint. I love dark chocolate. The end.

The bars are a great price here, it's nice that some of the profits go to charity, and Thrive sends these with a cooling pack in the heat of summer.

- Brandi

Hooked

Oddly, I'm not normally a fan of mint chocolate, (other than my guilty pleasure of Girl Scout Mint cookies).
I ordered this as a "oh what the heck it, try it" experiment. Turns out, this dark chocolate and mint is so delicious, I am ordering a gazillion more to have on hand.
Delightful and so rich, just two or three squares does the trick.

- Natalie

So delicious

I really like this chocolate. I'm not exactly a connoisseur, but I thought it was delicious. I'm ordering it again. Also, it's nice to support the animals.

- Andrew

Gradually Eating My Bar

The chocolate is very high quality tasting, the flavor is evident. I love that this brand donates some money to endangered species, although I wish they offered more animals to be benefited. The animal you pick on the bar is the one the money will go to.
Please join me in promoting this brand in hopes to grow their donation amounts.

- Maggie

Good chocolate, good company

I recently switched to dark chocolate due to concerns about too much sugar. Plus, I get more antioxidants. I just splurge on these once in a while, but they're very tasty, and make me feel a lot better about eating chocolate. I love that they donate to a good cause.
