Other than a slight hitch in his step, you wouldn’t be able to tell what Derek has gone through.

You wouldn’t imagine that he’d been comatose for two weeks after becoming the victim to a random attack that landed him in the hospital. That when he woke up the right side of his body was partially paralyzed. That, ten years later, he still has seizures from the traumatic brain injury he received during the incident.
