Whitney Port Joins Company That Helps Moms Feel Happy and Healthy During Pregnancy

Last Update: August 10, 2023

You probably know Whitney Port as a fashion designer, television personality, and lifestyle expert, but in February 2017, she announced that she’ll be assuming a new role—she’s going to be a mom! Shortly after sharing the news, she signed on as Chief Brand Director of Bundle Organics, a company dedicated to helping women stay healthy and comfortable on their journey to motherhood. With her new baby due any day, we checked in with Whitney to learn about some of her favorite pregnancy products and recipes. Be sure to try her go-to smoothie recipe, too!

Describe what you typically eat in a day (including snacks!)
I usually start my day with a decaf whole-milk vanilla cappuccino followed by a bowl of cereal with fruit, or granola and yogurt with fruit. If I’m really treating myself, I’ll get banana bread or a croissant because I love having something sweet in the morning. After that, I’ll drink a Bundle Organics juice so I get all those good nutrients early in my day. The Orange Carrot Strawberry Ginger flavor is my favorite.

My lunch varies every day. I don’t follow a strict diet but I try to eat a salad with protein or a lettuce wrap. Lately I’ve been loving Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Throughout the day, I’ll snack on fruit, or if I’m really hungry, I’ll have some extra-sharp cheddar cheese and crackers.

My dinners are different every night. My husband and I recently packed up our kitchen to get ready for our big move so we’ve been ordering in a lot. I like to get a chopped salads, healthy Thai food, or pizza and a salad. I’ve also been eating a lot of hamburgers!

How has it changed from your pre-pregnancy diet?
So much! I wasn’t eating as much or as frequently as I do now. I used to be someone who would skip breakfast or just have a piece of fruit and coffee but that doesn’t cut it anymore!

Another big change for me was I couldn’t have fresh-squeezed juices between meals. Because unpasteurized juices can contain bacteria, many doctors advise against drinking them during pregnancy. That’s why I was so excited to discover Bundle Organics. They have a line of juices created specifically for pregnancy. They’re flash-pasteurized so they’re completely safe but still contain all the beneficial nutrients that are so important for expectant and nursing moms. It has been an amazing replacement for me because I’m able to get healthy juice with no added sugars.

What has been the hardest food (or drink) to give up during pregnancy?
Wine!

Have you had any strong cravings?
I’ve been craving a lot of dairy and treats. Chocolate milk tastes so good to me right now. It fills me up and is just perfect, sweet goodness—I love it!

How has your exercise routine changed during pregnancy?
Before pregnancy, I was working out five days a week, doing a mix of spinning, cardio, and hot yoga, but during the first trimester, it was really hard for me to do anything. I was so nauseous and tired! Fortunately, I started to feel better during the second trimester and was able to do prenatal pilates and a lot of walking. Now that I’m in the home stretch, there isn’t a lot that I can do without feeling really uncomfortable so I try to go on a walk at least once a day, but am mostly just taking it easy.

What’s the best advice you’ve received during your pregnancy?
Someone told me to find a doctor you really trust and lean on them for all of your questions rather than asking family and friends. Pregnancy is such a unique journey for everyone so someone else’s experience may not apply to you. Your doctor knows the most about what’s going on inside your body.

Other than that, just take it day-by-day! So much changes over the course of your pregnancy. All you can do is take care of yourself and your growing baby the best you can each day.

Any favorite recipes you can share with other mommies-to-be?
My Banana Nut Smoothie has been my go-to during pregnancy! It’s so easy to make and always hits the spot. You can’t go wrong with mixing any of the Bundle Organics juices with Greek yogurt and cashew milk, or dates and a banana.
