Start with almost any red wine you have on hand (we recommend malbec, merlot, or cabernet—and have plenty of clean, organic and sustainable options to choose from), then infuse it with the sweet seasonal flavors of apple cider, citrus, and cinnamon. A slow cooker makes this a no-fuss, set-it-and-forget-it deal—crucial for busy moms like Garcia—but you can brew it just as easily on your stovetop.
Cassy Joy Garcia’s 5-Ingredient Mulled Wine Recipe
Yield: 6 servings
Active Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes to an hour
2 bottles of red wine
1 cup apple cider
1/2 cup orange juice
1 orange, cut into 1/2-inch discs
4 cinnamon sticks
Place all ingredients in the slow cooker and set on low for about 1 hour.
If using a stovetop, place ingredients in a large pot and bring to a simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes.
