What Are The Healing Properties Of Honey?

Last Update: March 9, 2023

A dab of honey will help heal a first-degree burn.

Like other ointments, honey has antibacterial properties, and it will keep the wound moist to speed up healing. Spread a thick layer of honey on the burn, and cover it with gauze.

You’ll want to use a medicinal honey like manuka honey, or at least an organic, raw variety. Conventional, processed honey will not work in the same way.
