This Snack Doesn’t Just Fit One Diet—It Fits All of Them

Last Update: July 11, 2023

Sure, food can bring people together, but let’s be honest—it can also tear them apart. With so many diets to choose from, it seems like we’re often stuck in a food fight: gluten-free pitted against whole grains, vegans squabbling with Paleo devotees.

At the end of the day, wholesome, healthy food shouldn’t be controversial— which is why Julia Kirouac founded Nud Fud.

These crisp, banana-based chips have only four or five organic ingredients, and no added sweeteners. They’re gluten-free, vegan, raw, and Paleo-friendly—and the best part is, they actually taste good.  Slightly fruity, with just a hint of sweetness, they’re hard to resist.

These crisps are a really simple—a straightforward combination of bananas with coconut, sesame, and other flavor varieties. Plus, they’re low in calories and high in nutrition. A handful of Nud Fud crackers clocks in at only 130 calories, yet delivers half of your daily serving of vitamin A.

The ballet dancer-turned-holistic nutritionist founded the company (pronounced “nude food”) five years ago. As a dancer who burned massive amounts of calories, she was always looking for satisfying snacks between classes and rehearsals, but because she was vegan, the options were limited.

She became obsessed with food and nutrition. “Eventually, I was spending more time reading about food and nutrition than I was dancing, and I figured out what I really should be doing,” she said.

Studying to become a certified holistic nutritionist only strengthened Kirouac’s interest in developing her own line of snacks. As she met more and more people with different diets and restrictions—like raw, vegan, Paleo, and gluten-free—she realized that very few snacks were welcome in every diet.

And just like that, the idea for Nud Fud was born.

With superfood flavors like goji chia, spirulina, and cacao, there’s a flavor for everyone. Try them topped with your favorite nut butter, as a granola substitute, or crushed up into trail mix.
