Halloween is just days away and the suspense is killing us! If we're this excited, imagine how the kids feel. But when mom is thinking of going a healthier route this year, the fun must be over, right? No way!

Zelana Montminy, a psychologist, nutrition expert, and a health-conscious mama has just the tips for fellow parents to make Halloween healthier for their families and the whole neighborhood. It involves thinking beyond candy and making trick-or-treating the fun part, getting creative with crafts, and playing dress-up. She also has some awesome suggestions for healthy alternatives to Halloween treats.

I like the "Switch Witch" idea... kids get to swap all that candy they got on trick-or-treating for a TOY of their choice that the Switch Witch will bring at night. My daughter is already looking forward to it. I'm just too nervous about what she's going to get in that conventional candy bag to let her "have at it"... all the GMO corn syrup and milk in milk chocolate from who-knows-where, I'm going with the Switch Witch idea this time. I LOVE your ideas for things to hand out. Drink box- great idea! I also love the organic gummy packs and the toy idea. Thanks for your hack ideas!!!
