Snacks don't have to be void of nutrition. Beanfields bakes legumes into every recipe and donates 1% of its profits to Homeboy Industries, a training program for the formerly incarcerated.

Snacks don’t have to be filled with empty calories and zero nutritional benefits. Today’s options make it easy to satisfy cravings while adding a boost to your diet, too. And one way we love to make that happen? Beans. They’re not just for taco night anymore. Beanfields bakes beans into all of its snacks, and Thrive Market members can’t get enough. Member Kitty opened up a bag post-workout thinking she’d just snack on a few. (She ate the whole bag.) And Jessica says they’re approved by both her husband and 2-year-old. Beans have been a food staple around the world for thousands of years, and are featured in a range of global cuisines. From Latin dishes to Creole standbys, Tex-Mex fusions or Indian favorites, there’s a whole world of flavor to explore when beans are leading the way.
Beanfields began in the family kitchen of founder Reed Glidden. What started as a fun experiment to see if beans could be baked into a chip took everyone by surprise—and the snack aisle by storm. Founded in Los Angeles, Beanfields works closely with Homeboy Industries, a training program for formerly gang-involved and incarcerated men and women, by donating 1 percent of its sales to help this organization continue its work.
When Beanfields was founded, it started a friendly war on corporate snack foods. Believing healthier chips were within reach, the company set out to transform what snacktime could be, choosing wholesome ingredients like beans (of course), and plenty of herbs and spices to make sure each chip is seasoned to perfection.
Beanfields has close relationships with its farmers (many of whom have been with the brand since the beginning). That means the company knows exactly what’s happening at every step of the supply chain. All of its beans are grown in the United States and are Non-GMO Project Certified. Unlike some other crops, beans require less water, making the ingredient a more sustainable choice. Not only that, but beans naturally fortify the soil with nitrate growth, which means they need little to no fertilizer to thrive. Nutritionally, beans deliver protein, fiber, potassium, and other nutrients, and all of Beanfield’s bags are gluten-free so everyone can call dibs on their favorite flavor.
These bags are guaranteed to go fast! (We dare you to eat just one.)
Snack purists will love the simplicity of Beanfields’ chips dusted with pink Himalayan salt. Each serving offers 4g of protein and 4g of dietary fiber.
It’s a favorite condiment—in chip form! Beanfields took the flavors of pico de gallo and baked them into a crunchy chip that delivers 5g of protein.
