Why You’ll Love Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
For the past few years, many have been touting the positive effects of the Mediterranean Diet, saying it can reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer, lower bad cholesterol, and prevent chronic and debilitating diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. The reason it works, experts say, is because it combines the principles of healthy eating (limited red meat, increased fish, lots of produce) with a ton of olive oil. Yes, olive oil.
This type of oil is not only an effective and versatile cooking tool, but also has tons of healthy fats to replace the saturated content in products like butter, which leads to many inherent health benefits. Especially when you have a quality product like Bragg Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. For 100 years, Bragg has exclusively been using all-natural Koroneiki Greek olives that provide a consistent and delicate flavor that makes the perfect salad dressing, bread dip, and popcorn topping. Bragg Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is also kosher certified, and contains no sodium or carbohydrates, making it even more nutritious.
Health benefits of Bragg Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Here are just some of the benefits you’ll get every time you use Bragg’s organic olive oil:
- Reduced risk of cancer: Olive oil contains a compound called oleocanthal, which acts similarly to ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and has been seen to reduce the risk of breast cancer in particular. Olive oil also has squalene and lignans, which are the focus of current research that has been studying even more beneficial effects in reducing cancer risks.
- Lower risk of heart disease: Olive oil lowers the “bad” LDL cholesterol and encourages the “good” HDL cholesterol, the latter of which plays a role in protecting the body and preventing fat storage, ultimately leading to greater heart health.
- Less oxidative stress: A significant cause of cellular stress is the metabolization of oxygen, which causes free radicals that damage membranes and DNA. To combat this, antioxidants are needed—olive oil provides a rich source as well as giving the body plenty of vitamin E.
- Protection against diabetes: Research into diabetes has indicated that a diet rich in olive oil and low in saturated fats is a good way to prevent the onset of the disease. This type of diet works to reduce low-density lipoproteins while also lowering blood sugar and increasing insulin sensitivity.
- Better bone health: Olive oil is an effective way to provide bones with mineralization and calcification processes, which can strengthen them and prevent osteoporosis later in life.
- Reduced risk of stroke: This healthful oil has been researched as a powerful way to minimize the risk of strokes in elderly populations. In France, researchers found that test subjects that commonly used olive oil as a dressing or cooking oil had a 41 percent reduced risk compared to participants that didn't use any olive oil at all.
- Managing depression: It’s been found that people with diets heavy in trans fats are more likely to suffer from depression. However, those that replaced trans fats with the healthy fats found in olive oil had a highly reduced rate of depression.
Cooking with extra virgin olive oil
Olive oil has a number of helpful cooking applications:
- Salad dressing
- Cooking oil for searing meats and sauteeing vegetables
- Topping for pasta (add some parmesan cheese!)
- Dip for bread (add some more parmesan cheese!)
- Marinades and sauces like pesto
- Replacement for butter (like in this mashed potato recipe)
It can also be used creatively in a number of tasty recipes:
Haven’t heard of tagine? It’s just a fancy name for a slow-simmered Moroccan stew. At the heart of this recipe is a tangy lemon chicken, which is flavored with turmeric, cumin, cinnamon, ginger, onion powder, and garlic powder as well as olive oil, olives, and lemons. Finish with couscous, cauliflower rice, or quinoa, and you have a full meal that everyone is sure to love.
Olive oil is one of the star ingredients in this Mediterranean-inspired recipe. It’s used both to fry the flatbread (made out of sprouted garbanzo bean flour) and then doused over the zucchini salad that also has watermelon radish and crumbled feta.
Other uses for extra virgin olive oil
Olive oil isn’t just a kitchen staple. It can also be used for a number of beauty and household hacks.
Clean makeup brushes
It’s always a good idea to keep makeup brushes clean. After all, who wants clogged pores as a foundation? A good, all-natural way to do so is with organic olive oil. Once a month (at least), dip each brush into a bowl of olive oil, and using a clean sponge, rub the bristles to gently remove leftover makeup and other residue. Since olive oil is naturally moisturizing, it will also nourish the bristles and ensure your brushes have a greater lifespan.
Olive oil is also an effective way to remove makeup from your face at the end of the day. Because your skin has oils already, cleansing with one helps to ensure you are not stripping its natural state. Plus, olive oil is gentle enough for use on all skin types.
The moisturizing properties in oils, especially olive oil, provider a barrier for the skin, which can help eliminate nicks, bumps, and razor burn when shaving.
With a little bit of olive oil, old or worn-down shoes can be rejuvenated and take on shine just like a new pair. For the best effect, use this trick on black leather shoes, though other colors of leather can be shined up as well without altering the look or feel of the leather. To use, take a light cloth and dip it in oil. Then, buff out any marks and follow by applying a thin layer of olive oil evenly on the surface of the shoes for some extra polish.

The best quality olive oil!
Will not purchase anything else.
Perfect olive oil!
It’s all you need and want in an olive oil! Organic, first cold pressed, unrefined, unfiltered, glass bottle, well priced, kosher, raw, dye and color free, everything!
- Julia M.
Very high quality
This is one of the few cooking oils i really trust, (along with organic cold pressed coconut oil). Make you sure you dont heat it up to smoking point or else it will destroy all the beneficial compounds! I recommend taking a tablespoon raw or on a salad, also great to apply to your skin high in vitamin e. I also will apply it before going out into the sun and it prevents sunburns!
Bragg's Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Love this olive oil. My go to for homemade salad dressings.
- Debbie Nava
I have purchased this twice now. It is excellent quality.
Can't even get it at my local grocery store. Stocking up on my reserve. Love it.
Rich and flavorful, so much better than any other olive oil I've ever tried. I will not buy anything else.
Love this olive oil. It is the best I've found. Taste really tastes like olives and doesn't leave a bad after taste in your mouth.
Delicious and light!
Love this Bragg olive oil. It is light, delicious, and works as well for sauteing as it does for salad dressing. I drizzle some over cottage cheese with tomatoes and sliced onion...then salt & pepper to season. Another yummy way to use it? Saute green onion and spinach in it...add scrambled eggs to the pan and stir; when set...grate a little cheese over. I think the olive oil makes it spectacular.
Hard to beat for the price.
I've gone through several of these bottles. It's good olive oil at a good price.
Braggs - Trusted Source-Great Quality
I have always found Braggs products to be impeccable. This olive oil is spot on fruity, and with a clean finish. I have always trusted Braggs, and they deliver on their products.
Bragg's olive oil
Love this oil, use it in so many dishes and to make my salad dressings.

Best olive oil
This is great olive oil and you can't beat the price. Delicious.
Organic non GMO olive oil
I trust Braggs over many other companies. When you decide to research what's really in your olive oil, you may be disgusted and then angry. Once again the consumer must do their own research and do not trust fancy words on a label. Try Braggs olive oil. It's clean and pure and the price is very reasonable through Thrive!!
AMAZING TASTE !!
This is Hands Down the BEST Olive Oil I have ever TASTED !!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT !!!!!
Bragg's Olive Oil
This is now the only olive oil I use. Love it and the price at Thrive supports this choice.
The Best Olive oil
Great price & high quality olive oil!
My new favorite olive oil. On my 3rd purchase and really like the taste. Bragg's does it again.
Awesome olive oil
This is one of the best olive oils I have tried.
Bragg Olive Oil
Great flavor and it is wonderful in salads or for dipping.
Smooth and Fruity
Smooth and fruity with a hint of spice, this is by far the best olive oil I have ever had. I expected sicnr it is unfiltered that it would be more cloudy. It is a good pick and I will definitely buy again.
I don't know what this means.
Very satisfied with product and delivery.
- Joel Prostick
Excellent Olive Oil
I love Bragg Organic Olive Oil. It's the only olive oil I will use because it has a great flavor and I can trust that it is 100% olive oil and not blended with other oils; which so many oils on the market are.
We continue to enjoy this extra virgin oil. The taste and aroma brings out the flavor of our foods.
Your integrity and products are great
The olive oil was a great purchase and I loved the guarantee of being genuine what it was suppose to be
Wish I could drink it
But a calorie is a calorie. But seriously, it's so delicious and pure
This is some of the best olive oil I've ever used. Holds flavor very well and not too heavy.
Full rich flavor wonderful for fresh salads and dipping breads.
A very tasty olive oil - the taste is as if you're eating actual olives. The only downside is the bottle's a little bit large (not the easiest to handle) and it always dribbles down the side after pouring.
I'd never tried anything from Bragg but their liquid aminos. But this is such good olive oil!!
Organic Olive Oil
Have not used yet. This is a gift.
it's olive oil
my husband grew up around olive trees and his family made olive oil. I bought this thinking it would be amazing quality haha but still not good enough for him. To me, it tastes like olive oil but i like the fact that it's organic.
This is really good Olive Oil !
Tasty Organic EVOO
This olive oil has good flavor. I use it for popping corn as well as for salad dressings and sautéing fresh vegetables.
One of the best.
Decent price, great product
Dependable brand name, great product. I use a lot of olive oil. Getting a good one at a discount is nice.
- Wendy G
Orga nic EVOO
Bragg name is one of the best in organic wholesome foods.
the best there is
BRAGG is the one of the very few, that is actually good olive oil, do research, all the others mix their oils with crap. If you are looking for the true pure olive oil, that IS organic, Bragg is it. 98 percent of the organic olive oil in your grocery store is not pure organic, and is actually bad for you. I do ALOT of research on Organic products.
Braggs olive oil
Is it first cold pressed
This is some of the best testing EVOO I've had outside of Italy...Thanks.
This is my favorite olive oil because it is unfiltered and organic. The price at Thrive is way better than at my local store. The flavor is great. I use it in all my salad dressings and for cooking and sauces too.
Great benefits at a great price
I have been so discouraged since hearing of the olive oil scandal. Finding a true organic virgin olive oil is a blessing. You can almost feel all the benefits absorbing into your body. Thanks Thrive for providing this
Best olive oil
With all the hype about " mafia olive oil", it is comforting to know this stuff is the real
Deal at a great price. Best of all, it is absolutely delicious! I LOVE this stuff!!!!
Bragg olive oil organic
i have a hard time finding this oil but they have it at a great price, great oil. its my 4 time getting it here.
Love Braggs olive oil! I love that I don't have to worry about it being mixed with a bunch of other oils like a lot of olive oil out there. It's flavorful and affordable, thanks to thrive!
Great Product Great Price

Bragg's Olive Oil
Haven't used it a lot but so far we are enjoying it.
- Susan Howell
I love it mixed with turmeric and black pepper as a spread on toast or a bagel. It's a light and healthy alternative to other types of spreads.
Braggs Olive Oil - Superb
Great product, as is all of the Braggs line. Price was great, the bottle was huge!
- Linda Camplin
Tastes great, use it everyday! Great price too!
Braggs extra virgin oil.
The oil is cheaper than the other stores I shop at and I like the brand,
My favorite olive oil for cooking & salad dressing!
- Sarah R.
Great taste and love that it's non GMO and Kosher.
Braggs organic extra virgin olive oil

Bragg's Olive Oil
This olive oil is absolutely the best! I use it in everything from cooking and baking to body scrubs and face wash!
olive oil breggs
this is my 3rd bottle can't find it where i live and saved on it.
- louise r
One of the best.
When we were kids, we used to help our grandpas harvest the fresh olives from their own orchids. Then grandmas start making their unique oils, soaps, and other heavenly recipes. Bragg EVOO reminds me of those old happy days. The smell, taste, and consistency are a bless. Thrive's price is a real bargain too, the cheapest I could find. Thanks!
Delicious and nutritious
I absolutely love this olive oil. Braggs is a company one can trust too for quality control.
From the first use, I noticed the difference and quality of this olive oil. I am used to olive oil being bottled in a tinted glass container to preserve the taste and longevity of the oil. However, I have recently read that many oils are only packaged with the tinted glass as a marketing tool to mask a product which is only 50% extra virgin olive oil. I trust the Bragg brand after using their Apple Cider Vinegar for years now and have experienced many health benefits from its consumption. This product is also great!
- M. Moran
Trusted brand, great Greek EVOO!
I've heard so many great things about the Bragg company, and while I use a few of their items myself, I had no idea they made olive oil! The first thing I noticed was that they use Greek olives (Greek olive oil is my favorite--strong flavor with notes of fruit). Next, I saw it was organic, unrefined, and unfiltered--perfect for retaining all those nutrients from the olives. I didn't hesitate to throw some in with my next order and was so happy that it arrived so quickly! I mixed it with some mustard and vinegar for my salad dressing and the difference was HUGE! Great texture, so flavorful, almost decadent!
This olive oil did nod disappoint and I'll definitely be ordering it again!
I also normally use olive oil as a make-up remover/moisturizer for my skin, but it tastes so good, I can't bring myself to use it for that! I'll keep this one for cooking and use the rest of my other bottle for everything else.
- Alma D.
Bragg's Olive Oil is as good as the Apple Cider Vinegar
Extra virgin olive oil is one of my favorite things! I use Apple Cider Vinegar for many other things and was happy to see that Bragg's has a variety of olive oil! I use it to cook my cage-free chicken breast with shredded Parmesan cheese. Yum! Very happy that it's Certified Organic.
I was not so happy about the bottle. Some how I managed to crack it (I have no idea how) and it leaked a little. No problem- I just put it in another bottle. Would buy again and take better care of the bottle.
- Whitney Wilkerson
You can taste the quality!
This is by far the best extra virgin olive oil I have come across. If you are looking for an olive oil that is genuinely pure then here it is. This is 100% organic, GMO free, and no trans fat. Bragg is also a family-owned business which I am always happy to support.
- Christina Malone
This olive oil is perfect! if you are looking for a healthy, unrefined, organic, and trustworthy product, here it is. I know many supermarket bottles of labeled "extra virgin olive oil" actually contain other oils such as soy. I like to know I'm getting the real deal. It's worth the price!
- C. L.
The only unrefined, extra virgin, cold pressed, organic oil I've found til now. At a good price.
I bought half the size of this same oil at Whole Foods for about $9, then later for around $11. Now this one at double that size, is only around $15 something.
The oil is thicker than most other extra virgin olive oil I've tried, which were never UNREFINED in the past. Unrefined is healthier.
Bragg knows best
All of Bragg products are of high quality and taste great along with being good for you! I'm really surprised they don't have coconut oil but maybe someday!
A bit expensive
I absolutely love the benefits of olive oil. From anti-aging to heart health, olive oil is a little miracle in a bottle. I love the taste and I even use it in things like cakes and pancakes.
The only thing I don't like about olive oil is the price. No matter the brand, you just get get it cheap. Bragg is a great brand, but it isn't cheap either. However, you do get what you pay for- a quality product.
- C. Lodbell
Replacing butter and other less healthy fats with olive oil can be a healthy benefit to your diet. That's why I do it.
It works to fight many diseases and even helps with aging!
I take two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil each day to to get all the wonderful benefits from it, as well as using it in cooking and on salads.
Thrive and Bragg, Excellent Combination
Bragg is a trusted company in my mind. They produce wonderful organic products that also taste great. I've been using their foods for many years and can honestly say, I've never been disappointed.
This extra virgin olive oil is light, flavorful and just right on many foods. Eating healthy is easy with Bragg. I'm thrilled Thrive Market carries Bragg products. With my Thrive Market membership, I save 24% on this EVOO.
- Hannah B
Bragg brand is brag worthy
Even though it is a little pricey, the Bragg extra virgin olive oil is my choice when it comes to olive oil for cooking or for skin care.
My skin gets really dry in the winter and I always concoct my own skin care items that help my skin stay replenished, smooth and healthy in the winter. Olive oil is one of my key ingredients.
- Margie M
A bit expensive
I love the Bragg brand, it is great and always healthy, however, it is a bit pricey. Even with my Thrive Market discount I can't afford the Bragg brand very often.
I like to use olive oil in cooking as often as possible, since I follow a Mediterranean diet. I also like that it is really good for heart health.
- Twanda Red
This organic olive oil has a rich flavor that I love. It tastes really good in any dish. I especially love it in pasta. I also like to use it in my hair during the winter to keep my scalp hydrated. It is high quality and I love that it's organic!
- Star G.
So many uses!
I love olive oil. I use it for a myriad of things. I really like this olive oil especially because it is high quality and organic. It has a rich flavor that I love. I use it to rinse my mouth (it's great for whitening and caring for gums). I also use it as a conditioner for my hair and also to moisturize my skin. (great for tanning too-but not for long periods, 20min a day is doc approved...) I also use it to cook with (obviously) and it tastes great in any dish. I use it instead of cooking oils and I also use it in my baked goods and it is delicious.
- Sarah Hewitt
This is the first product I sought out on Thrive after getting my membership, and I'm hoping everything keeps going up from here! This is over $4 cheaper than the cheapest I've ever found online - and it's more than $8 cheaper than the price I normally pay at my local health foods store. This is going to pay off my annual membership by itself!
I decided to try and dump most of my chemical hair treatments, and EVOO has been recommended as an alternative to conditioner. I add some of this organic oil to some natural conditioner and an essential oil, and I'll leave it on my hair for a bit then rinse it out. I find that it's leaving my hair extremely soft and silky.
I love Bragg's organic extra virgin olive oil. It's so good for you and has so many uses. I like to add a teaspoon or two to at least one meal a day. Did you know it helps fight "bad" cholesterol and can lower your blood pressure? Of course, you need to eat it with other healthy foods and cut out saturated fats.
Bragg's olive oil doesn't contain any harsh chemicals or strange ingredients, so you know what you're getting and what you're putting in your body!
- Ira Dashiell
My husband is the huge cook for our house, and he's in love with this stuff. I'm so tired of hearing about "EVOO", but he claims this is some of the best stuff he's ever tried. He says that it's pure unlike other types of olive oil, and he absolutely loves adding it to well, about everything! I'll leave all of the specific details of his delicious foods to him, but I do know he won't stop talking about this one.
- A. Sillas
Glad it's organic
Bragg makes some pretty good stuff and I like their Extra Virgin Olive Oil. While it isn't the only brand I use, I do use it some. It is the main brand I choose when I am using it in soaps and other products I make at home though.
I love to use olive oil with a combination of spices as a dipping sauce for bread. I sometimes use it on my salad.
I also use olive oil a lot in the pan to keep foods from sticking!
- Eva M
HIgh end oil
More people are finding out how good olive oil is for the body. Bragg's is great for stir-frying or dripping over roasted veggies.
It's got an authentic olive taste, but it isn't overpowering, it just kind of rests on your tongue without feeling heavy. Great as a dip for freshly-baked wheat bread.
- Steve H.
Bragg's is top of the line
I've been buying Bragg's apple cider vinegar for awhile, and I love it, especially when I have stomach problems. So when I saw Thrive had this for more than two dollars less than Amazon I was stoked.
Olive oil is probably the healthiest oil you can cook with, and I also like to drizzle a little on air popped popcorn and salads. And Thrive's prices make it so much easier to invest in good healthy food.
Real olive taste
There's some olive oil you buy and you know right away it's not authentic. It's too filtered, too watered down, too thin.
Bragg's is the real thing. Made from Greek olives, it authentic and thick and taste and smells like fresh olives should. I sprinkle it on my salads and toss it with wheat pasta and a little ghee.
- Sheldon Wheeler
Extra virgin olive oil is a menu must for great health. Like all foods, moderation is the key. Too much could cancel out the positive benefits. If I use some in a recipe at one meal, I try not to use it again that day. It's great for dipping crusty bread before a pasta meal!
I began using Braggs Extra Virgin Olive Oil instead of my regular brand about two months ago. It tastes great and has a smooth texture I like. It has all the vitamin and minerals expected of an EVOO.
- B. Martin
it tastes like olives!
This is the realist olive oil I've ever had. It's got the perfect green color, and it tastes like olives! I used this in my dinner, and it made a huge difference. I'm going to continue to get Bragg olive oil, for not only does it taste good, but it's healthy as well!
- Greg Sharp
This is so good. Bragg's is a great company and this Olive Oil is one of their many great products. Delicious on salads and pastas and breads. It is so hard to find unfiltered EVOO like this.
Best olive oil
A wonderful unfiltered, cold-pressed olive oil. This is pure olive oil, not a mix, like many others. It has a great taste and it's healthy. I've also used it on my skin and hair, and it softens both well. Highly recommended.
