The History of Giovanni

Giovanni’s roots date all the way back to the 1960s, when founder Arthur Guidotti opened his own salon on Los Angeles’ Sunset Boulevard. The salon was popular with many Hollywood celebrities, including Lucille Ball. However, Guidotti soon noticed that his hands were reacting to the products used in the salon and began to consider creating his own line of professional hair care products, made without harsh chemicals. By 1979, Guidotti and his business partner, Peter Stathis, founded Giovanni hair care products. The products offered a more natural approach to beauty, with gentle formulations made with organic ingredients. Now, 40 years later, the brand remains a leader in the industry as the #1 U.S. hair care line in the natural products division.
