Las Cepas carries on a long and proud tradition of winemaking in La Rioja, Spain, an area where the dry climate is ideal for growing grapes. The company understands the power of the land around them and works to craft wines in a way that honors and supports it.
The History of Las Cepas
Las Cepas got its start in 1996 in La Rioja, Spain, where the deep soil and limestone rock make the land ideal for growing grapes. From the very beginning, La Cepas has employed organic farming techniques to ensure long-term success and a sustainable product.
Today, Las Cepas produces its grapes over an area of about 130 acres of land spread across multiple vineyards, some of which have been in operation for almost 500 years.
Las Cepas Company Mission
At Las Cepas, farmers embrace the endless potential of organic farming. Rather than trying to tame the land around its vineyards, Las Cepas embraces the biodiversity of La Rioja. They use natural solutions like manure, rather than fertilizers, and steer clear of herbicides and synthetic pesticides.
Once the growing is done, the same attention to detail and embrace of nature continues into the wine’s production. Its grapes ferment without the use of gelatin, eggs, or any other animal products. Many of its wines are aged in French oak barrels, lending them an unmatched fruity flavor. Each batch is bottled and packaged in recycled cardboard. Across the entire process, Las Cepas embraces sustainability, while still turning out an incredible product.
Benefits of Las Cepas
