The History of Pure Plant Home

Pure Plant Home was founded by Tina Rocca as the newest step in her decades-long work in candle making. Tina had risen to prominence in the aromatics world as the founder of Aroma Natural Candles, which eventually became one of the largest handcrafted aromatherapy candle manufacturers before it was purchased by Yankee Candle.

After the sale of her first company, Tina stepped away from aromatics to spend time with her two daughters, before eventually deciding to make a return. Tina became concerned about the amount of GMOs present in many candles, and she set out to create a coconut wax candle that was specifically free of soy, a plant that is often genetically modified.

Today, Pure Plant Home candles and associated products are still crafted by hand in their Santa Ana, California warehouse and lab.

Pure Plant Home strives to be a source for good with their work. Their goal is improving lives by selling candles filled with essential oils. Essential oils are full of antibacterial and antiviral constituents that are absorbed both through the nose and the skin when a candle is lit. Plant-based essential oils can vary from plant to plant and between batches of candles. Some of the essential oils included in Pure Plant products include basil, chamomile, cedarwood, lemongrass, vanilla, and so many other great smelling ingredients.

For everyone at Pure Plant Home, ingredients matter. They make their candles out of coconut wax because of the sustainable nature of the coconut tree. Coconut oil also has a lower melt point to naturally keep their candles burning for longer. It’s a great carrier of essential oils.
