Stella & Chewy's
If you’re the kind of pet owner who has cycled through a handful of food options to find the best one for your pet, it might be time to give Stella & Chewy’s a try. This brand has perfected freeze-dried food, which offers best-in-class nutrition for your dogs and cats. Just like humans, our pets need a steady diet of nutrient-rich food in order to thrive, but many conventional brands don’t offer the best quality ingredients—or the best production methods. Stella & Chewy’s uses High Pressure Processing (HPP), which allows nutrients to remain front and center, and also helps eliminate harmful bacteria because pathogens can’t survive in high-pressure environments.
The History of Stella & Chewy’s
Sixteen years ago, founder Marie Moody helped nurse her dog back to health using a raw diet, and from then on she was hooked! Stella & Chewy’s was launched out of her apartment in New York City, and Moody spent the first few months hand-delivering orders by taxi. Eventually, she moved to Wisconsin, which serves as the brand HQ today. As for the name, Stella and Chewy are real dogs who were both adopted by Moody!
Stella & Chewy’s Company Mission
Stella & Chewy’s offers pet parents the option of making a raw diet both palatable and convenient. Filled with nutritious and responsibly sourced ingredients, dogs and cats everywhere will enjoy their meal times whenever Stella & Chewy’s is on the menu. The brand is passionate about supporting dog adoption, and for each bag purchased, Stella & Chewy’s donates a meal to an adult rescue dog (up to 250,000 meals per year).
Benefits of Stella & Chewy’s
For its freeze-dried meals, treats, and toppers, Stella & Chewy’s starts with responsibly sourced ingredients from trusted farmers. Every product is comprised of 90 to 95 percent meat—including organs for added nutrition. The brand’s animal proteins are never raised with added hormones or antibiotics. To round out the nutrition (and flavor!) additional ingredients include vitamins and minerals, plus Certified Organic fruits and veggies. Recipes are perfected in the brand’s Oak Creek, Wisconsin kitchen, which is housed in a custom raw facility to ensure the highest levels of safety for your pet. The brand practices High Pressure Processing (HPP) which is recognized by the FDA and USDA as an anti-pathogen treatment that, like the name suggests, preserves food using high pressure. (Stella & Chewy’s system uses water at five times greater than pressure found at the bottom of the ocean.) This process allows nutrients to remain intact, and has no effect on taste, mineral, or enzyme content.
