Moisturizers
When it comes to moisturizing, your needs are simple. You want smooth, clear, hydrated skin—and you want to stay chemical-free doing it. That means steering clear of any parabens, sulfates (SLS), phthalates, petroleum, pesticides, and preservatives.
At Thrive Market, we have all your needs covered. We offer a wide selection of natural, organic skincare products for all skin types: dry, oily, normal, and combination.
What kind of ingredients will you find? Coconut oil, argan oil, and almond oil for hydration; turmeric, vitamin E, and green tea for antioxidant restoration; and hyaluronic acid, aloe, and chamomile to calm stubborn skin—to start with.
So join thousands of happy Thrive Market members and getting shopping for your perfect moisturizer.
How Do Moisturizers Work?
Most moisturizers work as emollients. Emollients (fats and oils, especially) form a protective layer over your skin, trapping in moisture. Examples of emollients include shea butter, cocoa butter, and jojoba oil.
In addition to emollients, another compound found in moisturizers is called humectants. Humectants are similar to emollients, but act instead to draw water inside skin. Aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, and glycerol are commonly-used natural humectants.
Many moisturizers contain both emollients and humectants. Which combination works best for your skin? You may need to try a few products to find out. The important thing, of course, is to choose chemical-free moisturizers that won’t harm your body.
