Why You’ll Love It

Fusilli are a speciality of the Campania region. They have a spiral shape and are 1.614" long, between 0.053" – 0.058" thick, and 0.393" in diameter. Long ago, Fusilli were made with a traditional method, passed on from mother to daughter, by twisting with a swift and confident movement of the hands, a "spaghetto" around a knitting needle. This movement resembled the one of a spinning machine. The word "fusillo", as a matter of fact, comes from "fuso", spindle or rod typical of knitting. They are especially tasty with ragù (for example napoletana) and ricotta sauces. They also taste excellent with tomato sauces with peppers, eggplant, olives and capers.

About This Brand

Bronze drawn, slow dried pasta since 1886. Since 1886 we have liked our pasta to be bronze drawn and slowly dried because we like it to fall into the plate full of taste, rough and always "al dente".Even though our taste has not changed, as we feel the same love for tradition, we have continued to improve our production technologies. The best pasta is made starting from the finest quality ingredients beginning with excellent durum wheat. This is what makes the difference.First of all De Cecco pasta is not made with any kind of wheat, but rather from the best durum wheat, the ones golden like the sun.For De Cecco passion for quality is very tangible. That’s why experts inspect the harvest fields checking the quality of the wheat, which is bound for shipment to the mill (Molino) in Fara San Martino. De Cecco uses only pale yellow grains, which are called colored grains, the same ones that you re-discover in your plate after a laborious process.Upon arrival the wheat goes through lab...

Reviews For Fusilli Pasta

Based on 2 Reviews

Tastes great

Whole-grain fusilli pasta has always been my favorite, and this is no different. It has so much protein and fiber, and it ends up tasting fantastic. It doesn't taste like white pasta, so don't expect that, but it has a very filling and luscious whole grain taste that I've fallen in love with. I really don't want to use another type of pasta.

Cooks Really Well

Some pastas can be really difficult to cook because all of the batches vary a little bit. This isn't the case with De Decco. The pasta cooks evenly, and I rarely find that I need to cook it for more than 12 minutes. It's perfectly done within that time, and it's led to way less overcooking and made my time in the kitchen so much smoother.
