A staple in our house
Wakame is a delightful sea vegetable. I like adding it to cooked quinoa.
easy to use
Not an expert in cooking with seaweed, but this is an easy and tasty addition to basic soups. Since it expands in liquid I break it up into smaller pieces before mixing it into soup. A little goes a long way.
Delicious and expands a lot when rehydrated. Excellent for use in soups & with pasta. Has mild flavor & slightly leathery texture, not slippery. Also great eaten dry just don't eat too much at once! Doesn't have the super salty taste that is problematic with some seaweeds.
Quick and Delicious
I have been using this Wakami for years, paying too much for it at Whole Foods. A little miso, some broth, ginger, garlic or whatever flavors you prefer and some Wakami, and you have a quick and delicious soup. Add your favorite protein [I like a seafood mix of scallops, calamari and shrimp] and it's a meal. I'm so psyched to see Thrive carries it! Prep is super simple - just add water to the amount you want, let it rehydrate for a few minutes, strain and add. Love it!
Great for my miso soup! A little goes a long way. It really expands a lot when soaked, before adding it to soup! Great price here.
