Taking action on urgent issues like climate change and animal welfare, Ethan Brown founded Beyond Meat® in 2009. Speaking with Bristol Farms, Brown shares that the realization of how one small change—like shifting to plant-based meat—became the catalyst for starting the brand. From the beginning, he’s remained committed to using simple ingredients and never cutting corners, saying “we believe that just because you can add something, doesn’t mean you should.” While they offer a range of products like sausages and chicken tenders, their most popular product remains the Beyond Burger, a plant-based burger Brown says is “designed to deliver the delicious taste and texture of a beef burger, but comes with the added benefits of plant-based meat: more protein and iron than 80/20 beef, but with 35% less saturated fat and no cholesterol.”
