Burt’s Bees was founded by Maine artist Roxanne Quimby and Burt Shavitz, who kept beehives locally. The packaging is also designed with sustainability in mind, especially when it comes to using post-consumer recycled content (PCR) whenever possible. Currently, the brand’s packaging ranges from 34 percent to 71 percent PCR content, depending on the product, and Burt’s Bees continues to make advancements in this area, working with suppliers to come up with eco-friendly solutions.
