Tamara Rubin of Lead Safe Mama recently had Davids toothpaste tested by an independent lab for heavy metals and it tested positive for high levels of both lead (a neurotoxin) and arsenic. When I saw the text results, I threw out the five tubes I hadn't yet used.

I was really liking this toothpaste until I went to the dentist and found out that I had three new cavities! I have NEVER had a cavity before. My dentist said natural toothpaste needs to have at least 10% of hydroxyapatite to be effective which this does not.
