Valerian in this may not be reliable to take before bed

I had been having some sleepless nights since taking this inconsistently. I was taking it inconsistently because I have recently been diagnosed ADHD and have been trying to figure out my meds, so I quit all adaptogens and similar supplements so that I could really see a baseline for how the meds affect me. There were a few nights of absolutely no sleep, restlessness, heart racing, etc that happen to coincide with taking this Turmeric Pain PM. At the time, I assumed it was the ADHD meds, because that can certainly happen. However, now that I see I have only had insomnia on nights I also took this supplement as well, I looked up valerian. It turns out, that it can have the opposite affect as intended, particularly if you are already extremely fatigued (imagine how frustrating that is!). So on my days of most fatigue, taking this Pain PM was the worst thing I could do. Unfortunately I'll have to stop taking this. Everyone may not have the same reaction, but if anyone else does, I am hoping this review can narrow it down to the valerian root for you to help you figure out if this may be causing your sleepless nights.

This stuff is amazing. I am so happy I found this product. Such a reduction in overnight hip and back pain. This is a staple in my house.

Not worth it

Sadly, this blend did nothing for me. Going back to my regular turmeric only capsules made a much more noticeable impact.

I have severe intractable pain and I take two along with Indica cannabis before bed.

the full dose (three capsules) paradoxically seems to have a stimulating effect on me, not suitable for bedtime. one capsule combined with the other Gaia turmeric supreme pain formula worked better. not sure i'd buy it again but it might be good for people who aren't oversensitive to valerian etc

The product works, it’s just a little pricey.
It’s good - but—-

I love the idea of taking turmeric at night but it is a very drying herb making me wake up very thirsty and dry in the middle of the night. So, I’ll switch to a product for daytime.
