Get to know the history behind this wellness brand and learn why creating wholesome, real food supplements is at the heart of everything they do.

The History of Garden of Life

Garden of Life was founded in 1999 by Jordan Rubin, who was just 24 at the time. Rubin was inspired to find a holistic approach to wellness after he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease as a teen, and successfully conquered it while sticking to a diet of raw, organically grown produce, fermented dairy, grass-fed beef, and daily probiotics. The company started with a line of probiotics but eventually expanded its offering to include raw proteins, vitamins, and supplements.

Garden of Life Company Mission

Garden of Life is “fanatical about food,” as they put it. That means the company’s commitment to health is more than just creating innovative, holistic formulas, but working to preserve the integrity of each ingredient in a way that allows you to perform at your best. Each product, whether vitamins, protein powders, or probiotics, begins with real food grown in rich, non-GMO soil in order to deliver maximum nutritional content.

Benefits of Garden of Life

Every Garden of Life product includes these important principles:

1. The power of whole foods

Every supplement is created around the foods and nutrients that might be missing from your daily diet and produced using only real, natural ingredients.

2. Using only the good stuff

If an ingredient doesn’t naturally occur in real food, it won’t be found in any of Garden of Life supplements.

3. Knowing where everything comes from

Knowing the traceability of each supplement ingredient not only ensures that Garden of Life controls how each product is sourced but allows the company to maintain sustainable farming practices. All Garden of Life products are USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project verified, gluten-free, kosher, and vegan.
