But Spot’s pet parent consulted a nutritionist friend who noticed the difference between what’s in typical pet food—rendered “meat meals” — and the foods in...

As someone who has done a lot of pet food research in the veterinary medicine field, this food is horrible for your pet.

Good product-wish it was more affordable for large dogs

My dog likes this food and especially likes the wet food version. This is certified by the AAFCO, which means it meets all the requirements every other dog food meets. It also has no rice, which is hard to find in dog food. Rice sequesters arsenic well and should not be eaten every day by humans-so probably not dogs either, although I haven't found any peer-reviewed research on this topic related to dogs (it is available for humans though). I have read about the FDAs ongoing research into health complications related to dog foods high in pulses (this includes a lot of gluten free foods, not just vegetarian or vegan), so I've started mixing this with some high protein rice-free food until they release the full results from this study.

My girl is a picky eater and I had transitioned mixing this with her regular non vegan foood, and when we made the full switch, not a bowl left empty!

I have two dogs and one is pickier than the other, I was shocked when both dogs devoured this food. It smells very earthy but they ate it.
