Why You’ll Love It

If You Care® Tall Kitchen Bags are made from 100% GMO-free potato starch (which make them stronger than bags made of corn starch!) in a fully compostable composition. 40% less land is required to produce the same amount of starch from these potatoes as from corn. Unlike corn, these potatoes require no irrigation, and need only normal rainfall. These bags are all-natural, polyethylene-, and plasticizer-free. Great for compostable waste, they fit all tall kitchen 13-gallon pails.

surpassed my 'unsure' expectations. I was ready to sacrifice strength for cause. HA! I only purchased name brand bags before - these are stronger.

I love that these are compostable.. but wish they were just a tad thicker. I was afraid they would tear if I let them get full!

In my opinion and from my experience, these bags were excellent and had strong quality and worked well for the purpose I used them for which was for my 13 gallon trash container. I chose these because I hate plastic and what it does to our precious earth and am thankful I found a biodegradable alternative! :-)

Makes me feel better about not putting so much plastic into the environment! Careful putting liquids in there -- it may make the bag fall apart.

You cannot use these as normal trash bags. Also do not use with any water or juice! Found out the hard way after cutting watermelon and disposing of the rind....

Wanted to like them

Impossible to see where one bag begins & other bag ends. Whenever I try to get a bag off the roll it rips. I was on my way to trash with one bag of used Kleenex when the bottom fell out. Please find another choice for compostable bags.

I like the idea of compostable bags, and...

The bottom line: these may be fine if you use and dispose of them more than once a week and it also depends on what you put in them. I also found the “convenient handle tie” design often led to the bags splitting down the sides (even when being careful). Now more details: For one thing, and I mean this kindly, the company name might be a bit passive aggressive. However, I am rating this product on their performance alone. I do care about the environment and want to reduce the amount of plastic production and waste to the landfills or into the environment. Compostable bags seem to be a great way to do that. I’m hoping the company has strengthened their bags since I got them because of my experiences with the bags breaking down, splitting, or tearing when opening them (even gently). I’m all for a zen puzzle, though I’d prefer it not to be every time I want to open a new bag. Oily things and wet things seemed to be the primary culprits for eating away the bags. Things more acidic or caustic would likely do that too. I hope things improve for this product, but in the meantime, I’ve found BioBag to be a superior product. - It still breaks down (holes) with certain contents or time periods, but seems to be more durable and opens much easier!

Wanted to like them.

I really wanted to like them since they're compostable, but they're small and kind of flimsy. BUT, I do use these to put my fruit and vegetable scraps in. It probably would be good to use for composters.
