The History of Joolies

Joolies got its start on the Kohl family’s farm in California’s Coachella Valley. While the area is more known these days for the famed music festival that bears its name, Coachella’s climate is also the ideal for growing Medjool dates, thanks to year-round sunshine, sandy soil, and clean water from the Colorado River. The Kohls saw an opportunity to bring Medjool to the masses as a healthy snack and put their decades of experience date farming to work.

Everyone at Joolies brings the same values that have been in their family for generations to the company, an emphasis on doing the job right, and caring for each other and the planet.

All of the company's dates are grown on the 500-acre Kohl family farm without the use of fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides and are picked by hand to ensure maximum ripeness. The entire farming operation is designed to conserve vital natural resources like water and maximize efficiency.

Joolies believes that Medjool dates are nature’s candy. Dates are naturally sweet and filled with high counts of dietary fiber, copper, magnesium, and potassium. The ones Joolies grows are USDA-Certified Organic.
